I received second letter today. First looked exactly as i45.tinypic.com/e9zww0.jpg, but second differs for me: i47.tinypic.com/i5bw4g.jpg. Another one to ignore.

I did try for a TCP ticket at the weekend, went to ASDA and went to one machine that was broken. Wasent going to look around for another, 2 kids with me and 30 degress. Went inside did my shop over £100 came out.

Saw the TCP attendant standing right next to my car in the shade, thought bingo I have a ticket.

Sorry to say he just wandered off, I would have expected a ticket on my dash but no joy. Will try next weekend for you.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

    PRESS THANKS

Crabman: please remove a link to letter 2b, as this is the same as letter 4 (both are the same link). As I mentioned I received 2b/4 few weeks back, and 5 and 6 within last week. I didnt receive letters mentioned as 2a and 3, so I think there are at least two 'paths' of letters from Park Direct Ltd.

Thanks kuba - I've made one letter miscellaneous and put them in order, however, letter 1 and 2 are the same except for a different colour background - is that correct?
  • Hi, very recently been slapped with a parking ticket on my car when assisting a friend to an interview at university. They failed to send us a permit, on the day parked on the site car park, went to reception to claim the permit, was told the person with the permits was elsewhere in the university building. In the meantime the wait left me with a ticket. I have appealed this but continuosly recieving threats from the university to pay. The appeal has been disregarded and the charge has increased with continuous threats re:debt collectors/bailiffs etc. The university state they have nothing to do with the organisation, yet the letters have come from the university????????Dont currently have the facility to scan the letters, though are similar to the one posted already under NCP...Can you help pls?

You've been reasonable with them and the dispute continues so I would ignore and let them put the matter before a court, which of course they won't do, which is why they are bombarding you with threats to scare you into paying. I am not aware of a single PPC case winning in court (Perky's fix ups excepted).

They appear to have admitted that you were entitled to a permit and therefore entitled to park without charge.

The consequence of not displaying a permit (due to their member of staff not being available, which of course is their fault) has not caused them any financial loss/damage and they are therefore entitled to £0.00. I suggest you forward the letters to your local trading standards as their harassment/threats may well be unlawful.
  • Thanks for your advice. Shall get in touch with Trading standards authority:)
