  • have you asked your friend how much it would cost to make then? would it be cheaper than monsoon? if so get it made if not wait for the sale!

Unfortunately the one I like is only available in a size 16 online (I think it's highly unlikely that I'll find one in a shop quickly!)
My friend said that if I was wanting similar materials, it would be around the same price (though more if I start adding lace).
Pro to monsoon dress - it's lovely already, plus I'm sure I can find one on ebay etc
Pro to bespoke - I can have something a bit more individual (maybe a bucks fizz style tear-away skirt for the evening! :rotfl:)
  • Hey guys, I am after some hair advice!

I currently have a chin length bob with blunt heavy fringe, I have a year till my wedding, do you think I should grow it as every bride picture I see seems to have longer tousled wavy hair.

Everyone says how lovely my hair is in its current cut, I have an appointment at the hair dressers on Saturday for my usual cut, I dont know what to do!!!

I think it would depend on whether or not you really WANT to grow it... would you feel better having longer hair?

A chin length bob would look great with some of it pinned up, secured with diamantes/swarvoskis!
  • I'm having withdrawal symptoms from this board! I keep checking it and realising I can't really post any more. I do have a wedding coming up soon though (my sister in laws!) which I may need some help finding an outfit for... I've never been a guest at a wedding before haha!

  • aww melly, you can still post though, tell everyone what you did after theyve asked and help with searches an stuff xx

banburybride you can keep it that length and have extensions put in for your wedding day to get the tousled look or there are a million and one different ways to have short hair styled too, it just depends what style you want, have a chat with the hairdresser, look at mags and then you can decide which way to go

rainbow that sounds fab go for it lol seriously after all the pros and cons go for bespoke! x

Mine is a similar length to your's! I thought of growing mine a little - only had 16 weeks from booking to wedding - went to the hairdressers with the intention of having a trim and went shorter than I usually go! I have 4 weeks left and my hair is at a really nice length. Am going to have it trimmed just before the wedding because I need it to be long enough to do something with. I couldn't even straighten the back after last time. Not good when you have one side which curls the other which doesn't!

I am lucky in that my hair grows really quickly. I am hoping to go for a side parting and a swept fringe to make it look different! You have lots of time left so maybe have it cut this time and leave it next. I was adamant I was having a tiny bit off, sat in the chair and told her to chop it off! She didn't want to she thought I would regret it! I haven't! I can't stand my hair! :rotfl:

IMHO, I think that as a bride you should be aiming to look like an even more gorgeous and radiant version of yourself, not trying to match what others are doing. Ask yourself if you like your hair the way it is and think it suits you. If yes, then there is loads you can do to 'weddingify' (I think I just made up a new word!) your hair to make it look special but still 'you'. If you would have been thinking about growing your hair anyway, wedding or not, then go for it. Besides, if you decide nearer the day that you preferred it shorter you can always get it cut again!

  • BanburyBride - I had my hair cut the shortest it had ever been a few weeks before my wedding! Tried growing it long but I hated it, I don't like my hair long because its far too much effort to take care of.

If you've had short hair for a while, why change just because other brides have long hair?

I was in the process of growing mine out anyway because OH likes it long. Funnily enough it was shoulder length or longer until the day we met when I'd had it all cut off very short! I want curls on my wedding day, it might seem generic but I've had my hair permed in the past and everyone says it suits me
