  • I can't use protection sprays - have tried all sorts from cheap to expensive but they all irritate my scalp! Oops! My hairdresser is impressed with the condition of my hair though so that should mean its not too bad!

  • On a completely different track. Have just tried on my dress. I love it but... I can't help thinking it is a little bit plain. Was wondering about adding something to it. Don't want to go to the expense of having beads hand sewn and was wondering about maybe attaching a broach or something to it to lift it and make it look a bit more bridal (it is really a red bridesmaids dress). I saw one very similar ina bridal shop for £800 and the only difference was the sparkle on it! Just wouldn't know where to start - any ideas?

What sort of brooch are you looking for? Big one? Little one? Sparkles? Jewels?

Something not too big (or pricey). On the back of the dress is a pleat which comes out a little and think it would look quite nice at the top of it - as I said something to just lift the dress or anywhere else if people have any suggestions - any sort of enhancement will be good. My mum called it a typical bridesmaids dress but I didn't think so - now I am beginning to worry!. It was just so nice on and I am not bothered if my 10 month by the wedding nephew wants a cuddle! This is the dress I have chosen My dress!

    With the hair thing:
I can only use things that are none scented or I end up with lumps on my scalp which are really not nice and get very itchy! Can't use anything scented on my head :( Not fair!

I used it for my save the dates, pic here!

MissKnixon, I like the dress! I'd be tempted to add a big red satin bow at the back and a little sparkle on the bust... how are you at sewing? Could you add a little scattering of crystals?

ETA: Bubbles, if you want it, go for it! You can always cover it with something else should the worst happen. I want to get one on my wrist that looks like a bow but is really 2 Rs back to front (if that makes sense!) as those are our initials but I'm too scared of the pain! I'd imagine it'll hurt on your finger as there's not a lot of fat to cushion it!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
