MDW I had a c section then 2nd baby VBAC - giving birth naturally was a killer but pain short lived c section more painful long term. I'm pregnant again due in 6 weeks - they gave me the choice so i chose natural delivery as running around with 3 kids is much harder after a section. But if i need an emergency op again then so be it - the thing with a birthing plan is there is no birthing plan.
You have to do what is right for you at the time !

I feel a little bit sad when people say, it doesn't matter how the baby gets here so long as s/he's ok, because I'm delighted obviously that we didn't lose Molly and while knowing that the emergency section was the only option and that we did the right thing, the total lack of control of the situation and lack of aftercare/debriefing means that the sentiment doesn't work on me - I know how lucky I am and yet it still hurts. I imagine that this is how any difficult parenting choice feels - people who want to BF but for whatever reason switch to FF, for example.

I guess my point is that I know I'm supposed to wholeheartedly feel that just having the baby here with me is enough, but I still feel like I should have given birth to her. It's weirdly expressed for me - "Molly was born" rather than "I had Molly" because I don't feel like I did and I deal with things by making them linguistic problems.

Anyway, on that fascinatingly nerdy note I am off to bed to await my screamy munchkin's imminent awakening for boob and comfort. I could cheerfully have left her on the plane earlier on but now calm is restored and I have remembered why I love her instead of just worrying that I'm not cut out to be a mummy and have made a dreadful error of judgement.

SS - being pregnant was surreal enough for me so for a while it felt wrong IYKWIM as she basically just appeared and being off my head on morphine for the first 24 hours didn't help with the bonding.

I'm off too, little lady has just woken up and come downstairs and the easiest way to get her back to bed is to go myself.

    See you tomorrow.

Aww Glam, that's pants :( How long is OH on holiday for? Mind you, maybe it would be a good thing if BIL heard you and got the message... ;)

I've just been settling Rhys to sleep on our bed. Was telling him a little story of what we're going to do at the weekend... Actually talked myself to sleep! :o

Random question, but where does he store all this stuff he's always eBaying?

Just packaged parcel number 9 :o I just want it all out the house!

A mixture really! Most is in the conservatory where his weights are - his room!
Some are in the spare room and some in our bedroom.
Trying to get loads of stuff sold off so we can get some space back! Fortunately it's mostly small stuff but he's always come with clutter so I'm used to it!

Mmm.. can understand wanting it out the house - shame you have to do him a favour to get it gone though! ;):p

One end of our living room and part of the hall is full of boxes at the minute. It's been that way since we emptied Rhys' room (my old dumping ground!) to decorate it. I do just want to get rid of most of it now, it's just finding the time to do it (Mum's having Rhys tomorrow though so that'll give me some time).

Have to admit I didn't take too kindly to my "friend/senior colleague" pointing out I had stuff all over - err, yes, well it is my house, thankyou! That friendship's an odd one - we used to work together day in day out but never saw each other outside of work, but since I've had Rhys, she's asked to come round for a cuppa every few months. She's kinda my boss and the one who's been arranging my mat leave and return so I'm always on edge as to whether she's coming round as a friend or with some work-related ulterior motive

(sorry, end of rant... it's been bugging me since Monday lunchtime! :o)
