    Morning all..

Rhys woke me at 7.30am. He's gone back to sleep (still in his cot, woohoo!) and I got up :) Mum's coming for him at about half nine, so I'm trying to get some stuff done off my lengthy to do list before getting him up at 8.45am-ish.

Choppy, the physio's just been ranting at me that he should be sitting/rolling/crawling/doing an Irish jig (thanks tia!) *rolleyes* He does sit quite well now which is an improvement on the last time she saw him but she was only vaguely impressed and then quickly moved on to "but can he do..." instead - kneeling is the next thing apparently. I asked if he could be destined not to crawl (rather than he's physically unable to) and she said she wants him to crawl so were are to "train" him too.. I'll help him, of course I will, but I'm not going to train him like an animal to do something! :p

Oh, Rhys is awake... odd..

!!!!!! train him?!? Stupid woman. Of course you can't train him. He's not an animal. Just because there she wants him to crawl. There are loads of babies who never crawl. Grrr, makes me so angry for you.

Well done to Rhys on sleeping in the cot.

How come you're up so early? Are you practising for being back at work? :D

Going to get us both dressed now then have breakfast. Need to do some washing, then taking C over to work for lunch, before meeting the NCT mummies.

    Have a nice day all.

It sounds like mostly it is poor wording and poor explanation on the part of the physio. My brother was taught to creep, crawl, walk, run, skip etc. etc. (I can vividly remember us being outside saying, "Step...hop...step...hop" as we did skipping in slow motion.) It was never "training" which certainly does sound like an animal - it was just teaching him the next stage because whereas most children will just automatically start doing things, he didn't and therefore needed to be taught. He also needed more repetition/practice than they typical child which wouldn't have happened naturally without encouragement.

  • Morning ladies - and any gentlemen lurkers :D

Our stopping BFing started this morning because I neglected to wake up until 7.00am and Benjamin woke at 7.25am. No time for a feed before we left for the CM.

Oh well - at least I didn't have to have 'last feed' nostalgia!!

Redundancy interview this morning and then my lovely husband is coming to take me to lunch. He normally works about 50 miles from me but he has some lads working down the road so we are going to meet in what used to be our local when we lived here in Stoke!

Morning ..... 6:15 is too early for a first feed, but at least I get to go back to bed afterwards ...... I hate formula-based poop ..... Andrew's latest trick is to rotate himself through 180 degrees in the cot once he wakes up.

Think I've covered all today's excitement in this house! Off to watch JK now.

  • Morning all, just read back a few posts and wanted to add my two pence worth.
As a baby I never crawled, according to my mum I just stood up and walked no warning or nothing. Her HV told her I would be a juvinile delinquent because Id missed a crucial development step. Yet here I am 24, no ASBO's or bank jobs to my name. So don't stress.
