And what would I need to organise in 10 weeks?
Depends on what you want. We did ours in 20 weeks (most of which was my final teaching practice) and it wasn't difficult because everything was done either by us or friends so we weren't having to deal with special wedding people who like to work on a longer time scale. The most time consuming things for us were:
    - Invitations (because we made them) and deciding who to invite.
    - Choosing the Hymns/Psalms and music for entry/exit/signing of the register and then making the order of service
    - Wedding dress (because I made it)

    Other things to organise were:
    - sort out reception venue and organise food (we had it at church and they did the food for us so don't know how much work it is)
    - cake (a friend made ours)
    - photos (we had a friend and this is something people seem to be keen to do as we had two different people volunteer)
    - honeymoon
    - flowers (I just did bouquets/button holes myself and someone else did stuff for the chapel)
    - hair (again I just did it myself)
    - transport to church (my brother drove my parents car with a white ribbon on it)
    - bridesmaid/best man/giver away if required
everything tara :rotfl: .. sorry im crap at that sort of thing ... but can you really get everything ready in 10 weeks??? x
If you want to you can.

OH got his hols changed to w/c 14th June and I've emailed my new boss to see if I can have that week too... just need to find somewhere now! Wondering if I should point out just how close the north of the Lake District is to Gretna ;) (I never even knew where Gretna was before now :o)
The reason people used to elope there is because it was the first place you came to when you went to Scotland.

we drove past on our way to Glasgow & I said to OH 'Shall we just do it?' but he wanted his family there. I'm not that fussed as far too much hassle getting them all together!

lady - I can sympathise! Jack was up for 40mins at 2am - after 20mins he had a poo so I'm wondering if he is a bit constipated as his poos are quite hard. He drinks loadsa water though!

day of tidying up today and then maybe a trip to Next to see if there's actually anything I like and find out what time they open :)

you reckon I'd get a good profit on floor seats right in the middle? I got 5 mins to pay before losing them...

We're having a black and white theme, but the dress i was originally going to buy for her was in ASDA and they stopped selling it. Then we saw the baby K one and loved it :)

My dress: (this is my sister modelling it)

another vote for Gretna, though deja vu tells me we've had this conversation before!

'Tis cos I'm fickle and keep changing my mind! ;):p

    Morning all,

Rhys woke up at half six so I brought him in with me (OH was just getting up for work) and I'm not sure he went back to sleep.. I did, but he kept waking me up by hitting my shoulder repeatedly or [STRIKE]sucking my cheek with all his might[/STRIKE] kissing me :o

We finally got up, he had half his milk (so not hungry then!) and now he's lying on his play gym, drifting off to sleep then waking himself up with a jump then nodding off again :rotfl:

No plans at all for today, I just need to make a huge batch of Rhys' food cos I'm fed up of the lack of variety so dread to think how he feels! :o Then my sister is coming over so we're going to see her at my parents' house later tonight :)

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Buy and resell. You will at least get your money back on them :) x
  • Sami - think I'm too late but Yes! If I was looking on ebay I would go for floor seats over the high teirs anyday. Do you get 'em?

EA - Oh, nice dress. I can't see the details fully - is it lace/gothicy style? I had a black and white dress with lilac bridesmaid/men's shirts and lilac and silver table decs.

Glam - We kind of decided to run away to get married but decided on sunny St Lucia over Gretna:rotfl: . We weren't too bothered about family being there and f anyone minded they didn't say anything to us, but my brother got married at Gretna with only my Mum & Dad invited and this caused all kinds of issues - Families - you'll never please them all.
  • Morning all,
Last night was awful, I've seen every hour of it. I don't know why she is so uppity. Any tips on getting them reconising days and nights?
I'm going to start evening bath time instead of morning washes now I can bend propally lol.
And her cord fell off this morning when OH changed her, he went into a massive panic about it. But it hasn't even bled so it was ready,
How are we all? cooing over weddings I see.
