I promised to send my SIL a list of all the baby clubs I've joined, so I thought I'd share it with all the parents-to-be and new parents on here.

My fave so far has been the Boots club. I got a free Huggies changing bag with Huggies mat and other samples inside. It's a roomy bag, plastic lined so easily cleaned and it has plenty pockets and sections for storage. It will certainly be used when baby arrives!

I've also had a free No7 make up item, a BOGOF offer for Boots Med mum-to-be toileties (the body balm is fab!), and extra point offers for baby and pregnancy items.

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd finally post my news! Baby D - who we were convinced was a boy - has arrived and is definitely a girl, named Beth! Labour was a bit more dramatic than I'd planned (ha ha - the birth plan never made it out of the maternity bag) so only now feeling fit to reply, even though baby is 4 weeks old on Tues!

She was 4 days late in the end so I did try to make the most of my free time - thanks for all your suggestions!

Briefly, my waters broke about 2am on 14 Nov, (definitely a gush, not a trickle!) we went to hospital and managed fine on a couple of paracetamol until about 10am. Then off to delivery suite for some blessed gas and air, but not seeming to dilate any further than 1cm which was disappointing to say the least!

ABout 4pm, had some morphine and was then still only 4cm. Eventually about 8pm, they decided I needed to go on the drip to hurry things up, but as they checked the baby's heart rate, they realised she was in distress. So I was gently but firmly told the only option was an emergency section - not like I was going to argue though!

Everything would have gone smoothly from there, except I had a bad reaction to the spinal block and lost consciousness - bit scary for my husband as he was promptly kicked out of theatre as they shone lights in my eyes and intubated me.

So my natural birth with just gas and air and the birth pool went out of the window! I was a bit poorly afterwards, due mainly to having had all those drugs, which you wouldn't normally I suppose. But mother and baby both well - she's a greedy monster!

She was 8 lbs 12 and is putting on nearly 3/4 of a pound per week - good for a breast fed baby - no wonder she wouldn't come out! (I'm only little).

Hope everyone else is doing well, will catch up on the board soon, have to go and feed her (again!)
