    Hi Davina

I've been having one reflexology session a month since about 20 weeks at a cost of £20 per session, but that is in Yorkshire :money: - could be more elsewhere in the country.

I was meant to have a series of 6 sessions in my last six weeks, but haven't gone down this route as don't want to be early (EDD is 23 Dec so I'd prefer to be nearer New Year!) Sessions last around 45-55 minutes and it's basically like a foot massage, very relaxing and I usually doze throughout.

If you don't like having your feet touched perhaps you could book a shorter taster session with someone to see whether you like it. Or maybe other alternative therapies will work. What about acupuncture/accupressure? Anyone else got any ideas?

I believe there may also be a way of doing reflexology on your hands, but don't know anything about this. I'd recommend you speak with the AOR (Assoc of Reflexologists) to see whether this is possible.

I'm a big fan of reflexology as my aunt practises - although she lives 400 miles away in Sussex so no good for me! She specialises in conception and whenever we go the house is full of flowers from couples saying thanks as they have successfully conceived - even those who have failed with assisted conception. It was her who recommended I give it a try. I also know a couple of people who swear their labour was brought on by reflexology, even though they hadn't been having regular sessions.

Hope this info is useful to you - and anyone on the TTC list. I'm not really an expert though, so best to speak with the AOR.

One of the midwives at my hospital does acupuncture - she had to go to China for her course. She carried out some for me last week to encourage labour to start independently - so far it doesn't seem to have worked - but I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I had private acupuncture as well as a course of chinese herbs before I started my first cycle of IVF - the result of which will be arriving within the next week or so! :j

Has anyone tried Accupunture for Morning sickness. I think I've heard it works (but strugling to remember much of anything at the moment). I'm suffering with m/s all day, even to the point if I wake in the night for the toilet it hits me. I'm only 7 weeks, but feel rough as a dog all the time (I know its a good sign, but I can't function as normal)

I've mentioned it a couple of times on this thread - 2 sessions of acupuncture completely sorted out my morning sickness.

Thanks I knew I'd seen it somewhere, but couldn't face plowing through 60+ pages of thread. I'll give my local clinic a call.

Just wondering what I'm going to do when I no longer qualify for this thread.

It's been an invaluable source of ideas, support and money-saving and it occurs to me that we should have the logical extension in the form of the MSE Parent Club. Do people think this will be useful?

I'll happily start a new thread when I qualify (EDD 23/12) but there may be people who want to get started sooner.

If I've been dim and missed an existing one, please post the link so I can add it to my favourites!

Leni - you've been quiet for a few days. Hope you've got your new little bundle of joy!

    Congrats benmollymoo.

Hope you can think of a name soon - what about Noel as he was born in December? :D
Here I go again on my own....
  • We thought that might be a bit too corny - and we avoided it with our first whose birthday is on the 27th! it also reminds me too much of Noel Edmonds.

At the moment my DH wants Leo but I still prefer Lewis. Need to choose soon or we will have to put him in the christmas cards as Baby!

Can't believe how hard it is this time(baby no 3!) If he had been a girl we'd have had no problems! Wouldn't swap him for the world though.
