Oh Becles - just noticed that you're in County Durham! I grew up in Darlington (and my parents still live near there) though have been down in the deepest South for about 16 years now. (Still feel like a Northerner though)

Just adding myself to the now HUGE list of expectant mums, I'm in there on 2nd March.
Have found Dorothy Perkins to be really good for cheap maternity clothes. It always says to buy in your normal size as the adjustments are already made for you which is such a load of rubbish! I'm a size 10-12 normally and anything I tried on in a size 10 was like a tent. Found some size 8 maternity jeans in DP's which still had to be pulled in loads on the elastic and buttons bits they have in them, and had to shorten them via the miracle that is wundaweb(I'm only 5ft!). But hey, pregnant and a size 8? How chuffed was I!!!!
