This ebay shop sells high street surplus stocks and I got some good bargains from her. I got jeans with a stretchy tummy panel, and smart trousers with elastic through the waistband. There are buttons on the inside and the elastic has button holes on, so you can pull it in tight at first, and let it out as you grow!

Just wanted to say hello and welcome to all the new expectant parents that have joined us. I didn't log on at all yesterday as I was in bed with a viral infection, so it was a surprise to see all the new posts this morning! Hope you find the thread useful. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Thank you, I know I'm being daft about it and will do anything for our baby.
I sometime feel that too much information about something makes it worse but know that they do everything possible to ensure these injections are safe.

Hello! Does anyone know much about SPD? I had it very badly with my first, although the symptoms didn't come on until near the end of the pregnancy (but carried on for about 12 months after). This time I am getting the clicks and the twinges and the stabbing pains already (4 months pregnant, and hardly even got a bump yet), so I'm a bit worried about how much worse it will get. Has anyone had any experience of this? I'm going to have a chat to the doctor, but wonder if there's much they can do about it.
Hope all you other Mum-To-Be and new Mums are doing okay xx"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Hi Snaggles
I'm 5 months pregnant and have been diagnosed with SPD. I've always had a few problems with my back/hips due to a misaligned pelvis and as soon as the pains you describe above started my midwife referred me to the antenatal physio at the local hospital.
The worrying thing is not knowing how bad it is going to get, like you I've not got much of a bump but I know the small bump I've got has been enough to throw my balance and make me walk at angle that will only make the SPD worse. The physio has fitted me with double thickness tubigrip and that does help a bit - its not very glamous but far more effective than the support belts you can buy.
I'd suggest you give your midwife rather than your GP a ring and see if she can refer you, she will have come across SPD often. I found some helpful stuff on these websites http://www.plus-size-pregnancy.org/pubicpain.htm & http://www.spd-uk.org/ which tell you more about SPD and things to avoid doing.
HTH and sorry to hear you are in such pain.
Best wishes

Hi,
I have added myself to the list but put myself in so the dates follow. My EDD is 7th April 2007.
Im Keturah & am expecting our 2nd baby. We already have a little girl called sidonie who doesnt really understand that theres a baby in mummies tummy but likes to blow rasberries on mummys tummy for baby anyway.
Anyway just thought id say hi.

Hi Ketura, congratulations & welcome!
Thanks Money-Maker-Shaker, I'll have a chat to the midwife about it and see if they can do something to help. I was so out of alignment after giving birth last time that I couldn't get into a lying down position without excrutiating pain that nearly made me pass out (slept sitting up in an armchair for 2 months!), and I really don't want to go through it all again. But I knew it would happen and made the decision that having another baby was worth the risk, so I WILL cope, one way or another lol! The tubigrip sounds very sexy!!Will look into that.
On the plus side, I've spent the last couple of weeks feeling odd tightenings in my bump, but was unsure if it was really the baby moving or not, but today I'm absolutely certain - in fact I think it's doing somersaults in there! It's lovely to finally be able to feel it moving and kicking - hurray!!!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
unfortunately had not been following this post but have added myself to the birth list.
Congratulations ladies (and partners of the expectant ladies/mums)

Hi
I am 26 weeks pregnant with my first child and was told at 16 weeks I was a rhesus negative blood type. I have no problem having the anti d injection they talk about at 28 + 34 weeks but as they say it is screened as much as possible I am just a little cautious and worried about things like CJD.
Am I just being silly?
I am RhNeg, with my 3rd, and declined the anti D ante natal injections. With my previous two pregnancies, it turned out that I didn't need the post natal injection (and as I understand, the ante natal one is quite new), so I guess I got off easy. The reason I declined the anti D was for exactly the same reasons you mention. I was just a bit concerned about what would get through the screening process, and I am especially glad I declined it after what I heard on the news today. My view was that if I need one, it can be done after delivery, so why should I risk it if I end up not needing one anyway - which is exactly what happened with the other two pregnancies.
But I agree tha you should talk it over with your midwife. The only way to be able to make a decision like that is by finding out as much as possible before you decide. Good luck with your bump no matter what you decide!:T0
