Wow I can't believe all the new mums (and dads) to be that have arrived. Congratulations to you all. I don't feel so lonely at the bottom of the list now. I way we're goinng at the moment after Christmas we are going to have one arrive every day.

Hi expectants

I've just joined the EDD list and was wondering if there were any ladies out there studying and expecting at the same time? I've just started a PhD (October) and just found out 2 weeks ago that I'm pregnant (6 weeks yesterday). I've heard loads about maternity entitlement if you're in employment but I don't know what the deal is if you're a postgrad. I currently get government funding which is great but I intend to take 6 months off when the baby is born, which as far as I can tell means that I won't be entitled to anything; funding, benefits or maternity pay. Does anyone else know what the deal is for someone in my situation? My husband works so we could survive on his salary if I took time off but things would be pretty tight.

Any help much appreciated

I have 2 seperate topics I need help with:

1) Have any of you had any experience w/ hypnobirthing?
The course is £200 (!!!) & I am curious to get some feedback from you savvy money savers!

2) Also, I am going to buy washable nappies & am suffering from option overload! I can easily wash & dry things so am open to all options. My main concern at the moment is the idea of leakage - ugh! :eek:

In the meantime, my bump is now growing like mad & the kicks are becoming more emphatic!:p
