windows 7 installed now no network access PLEASE help

I thought we'd discounted that (or faulty ethernet cable) way back, because we were told that it worked OK when hooked up in the shop?

Just to check have you tried surfing when the firewall is disabled/uninstalled? The fact you have had it working for a week and now it doesnt tells me something has changed... it could be the OS settings or the Firewall.Feels he is being victimized

do't know if this will help but i had similar problem where i had "limited access" to the network. At the end it turned out i got the network key wrong by 1 letter. maybe it could be a similar problem for you. you should triple check that you entered the right network key.0

Hello again, I am going to bed but just to clear up one question is your Desktop near the modem, or is it being connected via cable and a Homeplug downstairs/upstairs (I found a similar problem tonight on this forum). If this is the case then unplug the homeplugs and replug them.

the suggestion about unplugging everything and replugging in WORKED
Cant imagine why this is so, when i googled my problem (windows 7 no internet access) you wouldn't believe how many people are having this problem and have tried everything, well now i am going to go on these sites and state my case yyyeeeeee, i would like to take this opportunity to thankyou for all your time and patience, i shall be thanking others too

thanks to everyone for all their help i am now back on my pc:j:j
the problem was solved by unplugging everything in my plug sockets and replugging in again (for some weird reason)
I shall now try to help others on the many sites that have people with the same problem

OP, do you mean your mains plug sockets? Or your ethernet cable sockets?No free lunch, and no free laptop0
