Please don't blame me for the board being called Silver Savers! Trouble is, thinking of an alternative - geriatric geezers probably wouldn't be any more popular! And, as we can see from this discussion we're not sure how old we all are anyway! :rotfl:

    Nooooo! I'm not at all!

Maybe a thread asking for suitable suggestions for a new name? It's tricky isn't it?!
  • How about ' the Mature Moneysaver'.?

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • My husband suggests TOGS. (Tight Old Gits).

Responses to this thread suggest very few of us are mature:j

    Hmm! 'Interesting' suggestions !!

    :rotfl:

Maybe just removing the silly "Silver Savers" bit and leaving it as
"Over-50's Money Saving" would be to-the-point, objective, inoffensive and non-judgemental.

Although I suppose all the other age groups could start clamouring for their own 'special' boards too!

Most of them freely admit it - so I think I'm safe!

Why "Silver" Savers, anyway. I cringe at that! Very old-fashioned term for today's over-fifties, if it means what I think it's supposed to! Maybe there's a point behind it I'm missing?

Leave the title alone before it's changed to elderly and ancient savers!:D
