I still don't feel (mentally) half as old now as I thought I would. I do, however, get a surprise (shock) when I see a mirror/reflection when I'm not expecting it.
If I knew half as much now as I thought I knew when I was in my late teens/early 20's I would be officially a genius!!!0 -
I was on a health and safety course the other day, and the lady was saying vulnerable groups for illness were children and and the elderly, and she said 'the elderly' covered people over 60.0

Ha Ha:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: that's made me laugh.
I'm 55, hubby is 58 and we think this is hilarious.
We're fitter and more energetic than we've ever been.0 -
To me ''elderly'' is not about age, more about attitude!
I have several neighbours who are over 80 and are very sprightly, still walking smartly, keeping their own households, and have active social lives.
My husband on the other hand is 49 and like an old man. He huffs and puffs after a days' work like he was a hundred , dragging himself around, does no exercise, never wants to go out and just sits on his PC after work and keeps talking about ''how old he feels'',!!:(...now that's elderly in my book!Knowledge is often mistaken for intelligence. This is like mistaking a cup of milk for the whole cow.0 -
I guess it comes down to some people are elderly, but they may not feel elderly..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I must admit I've noticed this to be the case in men more than women.
My husband started to feel sorry for himself and "feel old" as he put it when he realised his 50th was approaching but me being me told him he had better shape up as I had no intention of getting old without a fight.
As I have an 86 year old mother who is so fit she can put us both to shame he's had second thoughts and seems to have dropped the idea that he's passed his best.
I may intend to grow old gracefully but I also intend to have a shed load of fun along the way.0 -
My suggestions for another name do not include any reference to age, it's all about attitude and how you feel and I don't want to be in any group where age is the only criteria.
I suggest:
Wily & Wise
The Feisties
Older & Wiser (whoops, slipped in an age reference by mistake)
Autumn with Attitude (whoops, did it again!)
Not Daft, Crafty,
hmmm, spending too much time on this now....Torgwen.....................

Now that I'm older I thought it was great that I seemed to have more patience .....Turns out I just don't give a s**t.[/QUOTE

Plenty of suggestions for renaming the board, and here's one from the Dept of the Very Obvious
