My mum died 14 years ago at the age of 61 and her post mortem described 'this elderly lady' - I remember being really shocked at her being described as elderly - so at 38, I guess I am middle aged - how scarey is that????0

I'm 52. When do I feel old? Only when someone calls me 'young man'. Patronising !!!!s0

I have just read through this thread and had such a giggle. I have always said that age is relative - only the relatives know the truth.
I remember reading an article some years ago, about a man going into the chemist looking for a dye for his hair and he asked the assistant "what do you have for grey hair" her response was "nothing Sir, but the greatest of respect"0 -

I think the irony of it is that we all probably have more energy and zest for life than the younger generation.
I know I'm unstoppable and my daughters all think I need to slow down as they keep telling me I tire them out just watching me.

Why "Silver" Savers, anyway. I cringe at that! Very old-fashioned term for today's over-fifties, if it means what I think it's supposed to! Maybe there's a point behind it I'm missing?
I've been moaning about that term being used on this board for years. Fat lot of difference it made
It's a patronising Americanism. Rant over.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
