Abut 7-8 years ago the NHS classified anyone over the age of 55 as elderly.

My mum died 14 years ago at the age of 61 and her post mortem described 'this elderly lady' - I remember being really shocked at her being described as elderly - so at 38, I guess I am middle aged - how scarey is that????

I have just read through this thread and had such a giggle. I have always said that age is relative - only the relatives know the truth.

I remember reading an article some years ago, about a man going into the chemist looking for a dye for his hair and he asked the assistant "what do you have for grey hair" her response was "nothing Sir, but the greatest of respect"

I think the irony of it is that we all probably have more energy and zest for life than the younger generation.
I know I'm unstoppable and my daughters all think I need to slow down as they keep telling me I tire them out just watching me.
We've a lot going for us,us old "fogeys":D.

I've been moaning about that term being used on this board for years. Fat lot of difference it made
