Age awareness

To a 10 year old being over 30 is old;
to a 20 year old being over 40 is old;
to a 30 year old being over 50 is old;
to a 40 year old being over 65 is old;
to a 50 year old being over 80 is old.

Funny how as you get older the age gap increases - nobody wants to become old!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

there's a huge difference between getting older and growing up - I'm getting older but refuse to grow up!!

Being in my late 50's it's definately at least 25 years more than I am. I'm still waiting to grow up but I'm doing it disgracefully, or at least as disgracefully as the arthritis will allow.

It's an inside joke. He hates being the eldest of "the group", so arbitrarily we've decided that 28 is 'ancient', and when he gets there we will all refer to him as grandpa.

I think 75 on is elderly nowdays. My dad didnt think he was elderly at 90 bless him.

Things are so different now. When I was young 60 was REALLY old, bent over, tight grey perm, long cardis etc. Now I think of myself at 59, older than Madonna but younger than Cher and that puts it in the right perspective

But it is a state of mind/soul isnt it. I remember kids at play school when I took mine who seemed middle aged at 3

Im still shocked when I look in the mirror and a 28 year old doesnt look back.

My Mother refers to my neighbour as "The old woman next door". Mothers aged 84, lady next door is 86.

Well when you buy good cheese or wines age is promoted as guide to quality of the product - My partners auntie Mabel made it to 105 years before she put her clogs under the bed, She use to do Sunday lunch -meat and three veg - up till 100 for the younger members of the family- Also her hairdresser gave a weekly hair-do free because got to 100 - so what is age got to with it - What was the question ?
