I have just signed up with Orange on a new 18 month contract (Daughter wanted some purple Motorola phone) - £30/m for 400mins + 100 eve/wknd mins and 1500 texts. Not sure if I want to take up free Broadband deal as I am already on Ntl and I have internet on all day.
However, I currently pay Ntl £39/m for phone/tv/broadband but use Freeview. Would I be better of taking the Orange freebie, but maybe pay the extra monthly cost for bigger broadbad usage.
Also, does the deal include telephone? Confused.0 -
Do you use more than 2GB per month? If you do you would have to pay another £10 to Orange for your internet usage. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Ive been waiting 3 weeks today.0 -
Am annoyed!!!!!!!!! gggrrr.
Am existing orange customer 3 months through an 18 month contract - just rung up to get the £30 broadband deal.
Happy to extend contract
Happy to pay £30 per month (existing contract £25 per month)
Catch - their £30 month contract is for 200 mins my contract for £25 is for 200 mins plus 100 texts. To get 100 texts on £30 contract I need to pay an extra £6 making total to be paid £36.
I know this is cheaper than paying £17.99 at Talk talk so I'd be saving £6.99 in effect.
But it just made me mad - how do I get round this? Can anyone help? I asked to be put through to talk to someone else but in order to do this I need to pay remainder of my contract in full before they would do this £300 and odd quid.
Do I just try again for a different operator?0 -
I am disappointed that Martin is still recommending Talk Talk so fervently in light of the experiences that other other disgruntled customers and I are having.
I thought the ethos of this community was to save money...I am currently spending money on barred line and no broadband - and would need to distance pay £70 to bale out now. I can ill afford that kind of money.
I am very disappointed in that I put faith in this site's recommendations.
How about a new campaign on the scale of the Vordermann campaign - to get Talk Talk to do a little less talking and considerably more listening.0 -

How do you expect to get any action posting in the Wanadoo/Orange to offer Free Broadband thread?
You should have started a new tread with it's very own title!

Funkynerd. I'm really sorry to hear that the talktalk recommendation isn't working out for you. However the vast majority of the feedback I've got on TalkTalk is good.
Yet that's very cold comfort for you
The following is from my broadband article and it expresses how i see things
"When writing about broadband providers I always take a deep breath. My Chat-Forum clogs up with people writing “I can’t believe you rate the hideous provider X”. Often the next post applauds the very same provider. So unless a disproportionate number of complaints have been made (when I note it), I simply judge on price as service is much of a muchness. To help, use the Chat Forum link to read others’ opinions or www.adslguide.org.uk is a great website where real techies discuss the issues."
TalkTalk is much the same. It is a massive provider and like all of them - for many people it is useless. Then again so is BT, Tisclai, Wanadoo, AOL and the rest of them. Therefore unless one company has disproportionate bad feedback (and there've been a few) I don't withdraw the research.
The fact is there's always some sub-served customers. Frankly I can imagine that infruriates you when you've had such bad service and TalkTalk needs taking to task (i know from his blog the owner reads this site, so hopefully he'll pull his finger out). The problem is that there are many saying "great was all smooth and easy and really cheap".
I hope you can see my perspective. The only way ot avoid any problems with telecom/broadband suppliers would be to suggest no one uses them
sorry
Martin

Just wondering if anyone can help me out? I'm in the process of upgrading my Orange mobile and, coincidentally, received a letter through the post from Orange offering me wireless broadband of 'up to 8 Meg' (depending on where you live) so long as you take out a tariff on your mobile for £30. Does anyone know if there are any catches as it seems a little too good to be true. At the moment I pay £30 for my mobile PLUS an additional £26 to telewest for my broadband and home phone. They also indicate that that for an extra £6 a month you can use the Talk Any Time service to make free calls to UK landlines via the broadband connection.
Am wondering if there must be a catch somewhere as in the smallprint it indicates that the offer 'may change or be withdrawn in the future'.

The only catch I can see is that a 2GB limit applies, but if you are a moderate to light user this would not be too much of an issue.0
