O2's new tariffs

Hi,
I've got a quick question: will one be put on these new tariffs automatically at the end of your minimum contract duration or only when you want to upgrade?
Many thanks
Only when you upgrade. At the end of your minimum term your existing contract just turns into a rolling 30 day one with the same terms.0 -
Thanks, I will not be upgrading for a long time then. You can have God without religion!0

well im on the simplicity £20, 600 mins, 1200 txts and i chose 200 extra mins bolt on (had this for 16 month).
i heard o2 had a 30 day sim at £20 for the i phone?? 600 min, 1200 txts and free data and wifi - is this true??
and as an existing customer would i be able to get this deal do you know???
they do the same thing for £20 still (12 month deal), but i dont fancy being tied for 12 months you see.
any helps appreciated - cheers0 -

that £20 per month simplicity with 600 mins 1200 texts and unlimited web is a standard 30 day simplicity tariff. i'm on that now since my contract finished a couple of months ago and i haven't seen a deal to make me sign a new one yet.
no wifi included but thats not a massive deal for me or most people i know as long as you have free web0 -
3rd party company intranet. Staff have been told O2 tariff changes go live 26th February for new connections and 1st March for upgrading customers.
I tried calling to change my tariff to one of the previous tariffs and O2 retentions said I had to go for one of the new tariffs. So I'm sticking with my existing tariff fo now but have requested a PAC. With inclusive MMS and texts whilst abroad removed, there is nothing to keep me on O2 now.0 -

I just tried to do this but O2 retentions said they could not move people on to the previous tariffs. Still worth a shot. Post back if you are successful!0 -
Hi
I have an iPhone. Contract was up 30th Jan and I've not changed to the simplicity tarriff yet. My plan was to wait till June before upgrading to see if a new iPhone came out. I like the 500 texts and the fact I can use equivalent of 4 when texting from abroad. Am I too late to change tariff now. Ideally I would drop to the simplicity tariff with 600 texts then maybe buy a payg iPhone in June so I still had free texts from abroad. I do travel a fair bit so it will make a difference to my bill if I have to go onto the new tariff when I upgrade0 -
I suppose another option is to upgrade to the 3GS before Sunday so I can stay on the old tariff then sell the 3GS to fund a new phone in June????0

I think O2 have made a mistake in changing their tariffs - they are effectively increasing prices by increasing monthly rates and/or reducing allowances and benefits (free voicemail, inclusive MMS and texts whilst abroad). The new main benefit is unlimited texting - but I doubt many will benefit from this change.
The second mistake they have made is not to allow time for people to change tariffs - the old tariffs are gone and the new tariffs (which are less competitve) replace them with immediate effect.
Quite annoyed at O2. They've gone from being really quite competitive to rather average.0
