The new tariffs are rather disappointing as far as value for money goes. Perhaps for heavy texters they may save money, but for me unlimited texts are an unnecessary benefit.

To get basically the same minutes and internet allowance I would have to pay £5 per month more under the new tariffs. Perhaps it's being the biggest that allows O2 to raise prices.

Thinking about picking up that PAC and going for 3 or T-Mobile now.

12 month smartphone simplicity - £20 for 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data
12 month IPhone simplicity - £20 for 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data & wifi

Why do you get wifi with IPhone tariff and not the smartphone one - what's stopping non-IPhone users getting the IPhone tariff and making use of the wifi too?

O2 are so stoopid for reducing the benfits from their tariffs - so annoyed I didn't go for the £20 pm tariff yesterday as I'd got 200 extra mins and free voicemail, and inclusive mms and texts abroad. Anyone know if ITS is still included in the new tariffs?

Answered my own questions above - Wifi is available with the smartphone tariff - just not clear on website.

Also, ITS is included on all plans with 600 mins+

    Time to consider Vodafone

Considering you can get pretty much exactly the same tariff on a 30 day rolling contract with Vodafone I don't see why O2 haven't upped the minutes to say 800 on a 12 month deal. It's puzzling:(.

Are existing customers being forced onto these tariffs?
I'm on a retention deal of
    600 mins,
    500 texts
    Unlimted text bolt on

If they take away my 500 texts, it means I need to start paying for MMS and international texts as these come off my 500 texts, but my normal SMS come from my unlimited text bundle.
  • No they are not.
I have just added the Blackberry bolt on to my existing simplicity tariff and was told by Sian the advisor that because i am not asking for a different tariff and only adding another bolt on, she THINKS i will be ok.

    We shall see!!:o

3rd party company intranet. Staff have been told O2 tariff changes go live 26th February for new connections and 1st March for upgrading customers.

If I go onto the O2 or CPW websites to upgrade it's only showing the new tariffs. Would I be better to go in to a store tomorrow to attempt to stay on my existing contract with an upgrade?

Call the retentions department tomorrow (dial 202 and follow instructions for leaving O2) and I'm sure they'll let you keep you on your current tariff with an upgrade. I called today and managed to switch from a previous tariff to another previous tariff. (I tried yesterday without success so I had to call again today).
