O2's new tariffs

well just had a look at the website...not impressed at all.
I'd have to pay £42.50 for 600 mins, unlimited texts(which i dont neeed), and blackberry unlimited, and £50 for a 9700. That would be an increase of £15 pm and I wouldn't be getting Unlimited weekend calls so i'd be over my minutes allowance every month. Also voicemail is no longer free, comes out of your inclusive allowance.
But I can see that you get your blackberry unlocked for free if you fill out the o2 form, which is pretty good if you go abroad alot or if you have another sim.
I'll be ringing retentions later to see what they can offer.

I save £15 a month if i move down to a 12 month simplicity for iphone. But I'll give retentions a ring and see what they can give me0

No good for smartphone users as it's now more expensive for the equivalent 'old' tariff.Charles J0

Why would I choose the smartphone 18 month tariff and not the standard 18 month tariff? The standard one has 300 mins and the smartphone has 100 mins, both have the web included. All for the same £30. Bizarre.
Also why no web bolt on option on the simplicity 20 tariff?0 -
I called on Wednesday about the online 35 18 month contract for the Blackberry Bold 9700 as I didn't want to pay £50 for the phone when all the other mobile companies were doing it for free. I was told that I should wait for the new tariffs to come out today to get a better deal.
Now they're even worse! £42.50 for an 18 month contract with the same mins/texts and STILL have to pay £50 for the phone. I'm calling back later to see if I can get a deal, otherwise I'm saying bye bye to o2 (after 7 years) and moving to Orange.0 -

Bizarre it is!
They won't let you choose a standard tariff if you want a 'smartphone'. I guess they want to charge smartphone users more as they're likely to use data more.
The Simplicity sim only tariff giving 600 minutes, 1000 texts and limited web bolt on is also not available now.
O2 retentions advised me last week to hold off from getting the old tariff with the HD2 because the new tariffs were coming out and that I might get a better deal :rotfl:Charles J0 -
New tariffs look ****.
Be quick if you want to get a deal with o2, some of the main retailers still have the old tariff deals on their sites.0 -
Can any one clarify this for me?
Are MMS no longer included in the texts allowance? (its says Your inclusive text allowance can be used for UK text and picture messaging, but the T&Cs say you will be charged, Picture messages or video messages sent to UK mobiles will be charged at 20p per message.)
If sending a text from abroad, will I be charged, or will they take 4 texts from my allowance, as previous?
Voicemail is this no longer free?0 -
Would the Simplicity for Iphone sims work in phones other than iphones? As a £20 per month with 600 mins , unlimited texts, and unlimited data and wifi seems good.0
