Labasheedy wrote:I have noticed that when I open a thread after a few seconds it will jump to a different position on the thread, still within the same page and I have to scroll back up. It isn't that annoying, but it would be interesting to see if this is happening with everyone.
Or is it my eyes jumping about all on their own.- if only!
It seems that the page is taking time to fully load, and if you scroll through the posts before the page has completely downloaded it jumps back.
It looks like it's the star ratings gifs which are the problem...well if the info at the bottom left of my browser (IE) is to be believed!
I'm getting a X or a blank rectangle where the stars would normally show, and it does seem that this is the last item to load each time.
I'm not complaining though
A great job in so little time - well done to all involved!

Just to say i miss the "last 200 posts" quick scan thing too. And i've been told its virtually impossible to restore due to the quick sampling thing. However i've a secret plan to keep nagging the techies once we've more power on the new server (sssh)Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Thanks for pointing out those arrows sra, I hadn't noticed them all.
But it does jumps and gm_xone is quite right I think.
There appears to be a delay in downloading rating_0.gif and rating_1.gif etc and when these fill eventually in, the page will jump a little, sometimes up to two or three posts further down the thread.I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.0 -
I thought it was just me as well. Glad to hear that it's other people too, if that makes sense?0

MARTIN... hope you can do something to get it reinstated ... particularly to 500 and to be able to download it so it can be read at leisure.
another day gone by.. and i've done my normal of coming on at 8am... wanting to review posts from previous evening and overnight.. and then after lunch wanting to glance through this mornings posts. Normally i'd come on early evening to review the afternoons postings.
because its far more time consuming now .. glancing down a page with 25 headings ... and if i want to see recent posts on a thread then having to click into the thread etc .... all too time consuming and i notice i don't look at even a handful of subjects ... i guess because i just see the headings of subjects that are not that relevant whereas before i could just glance quickly at the heading/ first few words and pick up all sorts of knowledge.
i'm probably spending 10% of the time on the site and learning 5% of what i used to.
pls help !!0 -
could we have the boards guides names in the sections they look after, as so if we see something in the thread we can easily see who to contact.
i know there is a link to a list on the main page but having the relevant peoples name in there own sections would be faster and easier if it could be included.
Also i know there is the icon to report the thread but who does that go to ? ?
thought this way may assist that person also as not all requests will then go to that one person.0 -
just noticed it at the bottom of the threads, brilliant...cheers..
it wasnt always there though.... was it..0
