This forum is provided free of charge and it helps you save money. Martin and his team have been working very hard to improve it and it will be a very definite improvement once they have finished tweaking.
As I said, this board is completely free, and in my opinion is fantastic. If you don't like it, don't complain, it doesn't cost you anything.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
yes my post does matter as in the early days everyones opinon was respected and posters gave respect , not so obvious to some I fear.
Trafalger thankyou for your tipRememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

As for the forum software, which is vBulletin, its the best forum software on the market. You'll find a lot of the biggest forums on the Internet use it as well
Done that, now I'm wondering what kernel its running and what hardware. I'll take your word about vBulletin.

OK a couple more things we have in the pipeline
1. Archive. To be honest it is impossible to move the old posts to the new forum, so I'm afraid the post counts will start from where it is now. I understand many people will not enjoy this - im really sorry though, nothing can be done. However so old posts aren't lost we'll be setting up an 'archive' forum of last years posts, which you'll be able to click on and read all the old ones.
2. Techie how the forum is set up. Frankly I've no clue, but i know brendan and Will will be looking at it - if you're a server junky and have some suggestions then i'm sure they'll be more than happy to hear them - the more help the merrier. For this if you use the ForumTech email in the green above, it'll get there

I’m pretty ticked off!!
Post count now 81 - Lost around 400+
Star rating now * [1] - Was 3/4

[where’s the Senior part?]
I like the new software but the post count, star rating and member status is deeply flawed, cannot be trusted and should be scrapped altogether.Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

Aaaaggghhhh! Reverted to old name, wrong signature (tried to change it, but won't work), 'senior' member? Nope! I was a 'not so newbie', avatar vanished...
Oh well, I expect it'll all come right eventually.'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

OK - if you can't change your signature then contact the techie glitches people and they should help
As for old posts - i'm really sorry - it's just impossible. Please remember this wasn't a 'should we, shouldn't we'. Yabb was broken, it would not work, it was gone. That's why we shifted when we did - all posts and the whole forum would've been lost. We simply have to live with the changes.
As for the rating system to be honest the plan was that'd never have been on the system. It snuck in and is due to be turned off.
The system i want is a 'recommend a post' system - and we're going to be looking for a mod for that.
