It's not urgent, but some point, can you replace some of the images for these smilies with the ones from the old forum? e.g. the old animated rolleyes smile was much better than
In fact I think most of the old ones were more visually appealing.
Anyone agree?
I don't think they're well liked
I think MSE_William said he was changing or adding to the smilies0 -

First of all Brendan, Will, Dan and Andrea have done an amazing job to get this ready. It's very difficult to appreciate the sheer scale of the conversion (and i managed to stay away rather than mess it all up).
Not to mention the testers and regulars who sat around for hours waiting to get their mitts on the test buttons
Thanks to all the sites great ..................just needs to go faster:D0 -

On a more serious note, some replies in certain threads seem to have disappeared - and the ones in question were made AFTER last week's crash. Can we expect to see them appear again or are they gone forever? (If required, I can provide links to a particular thread where this has happened.)0 -
I'd like the signature to be further down the page from the actual post. It is so close to the end of the post that it seems to be part of the post, if that makes sense.
And I'd like our old smilies back please.
Also, why is there a title box in the reply to thread box?
Finally, thanks for getting the site running again. God that was a long weekend!!0 -
So glad to have you back - have had severe withdrawal symptoms all weekend.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Hi I know many of you have questions about
1. Lost posts
2. Things you don't like
3. Signature confusion and the like
While these are all important - the key issue at the moment is speed. We've idenitified a few reasons why it is slow
a. The old software is still on the same server - we're moving it
b. The server is set up for the old software and we need to look at jigging it for this
c. Perhaps we don't have the power we need. Their is amazing demand - we had thought it peeked at 900 most days then settled to 500, it now seems 900 is constant hour after hour
So this is what we're going to do
1. Put all the resource into resolving the speed issue the aim is to considerably improve it this week.
2. After that we will look at other things - i will (when we're ready) open a request thread so you can make suggestions for changes.
Stick with it folks

Hi Martin,
Currently impressed with the upgrade effort, having kept most of the look and feel of the old site and the most important thing ... the old data.
Being the techie I am I was just wondering what your site is running with regard to hardware and software. That's assuming the information isn't confidential. You never know I might be able to help.
Cheers

You can find out what a site is running on by going to netcraft.com.
As for the forum software, which is vBulletin, its the best forum software on the market. You'll find a lot of the biggest forums on the Internet use it as well0
