  • I'm really not sure, tomorrowsgolfer has been mmore popular than Today's Golfer!

But I also heard from other sites that they had issues on stock and delivery. If I were you, I'd would just stick with established online traders.
  • I phoned other companies trying to beat Tomorrows Golfers price and heard from several of these companies that Tomorrows Golfer were bad news and to take a look at the money saving expert website and I'm so glad I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I eventually purchased a SGX from UK Golf Academy and received fantastic customer service with the SGX being delivered the very next day.......and at a good price!!!
  • Hi, Just to let you know I eventually got my refund back!! There is a god!! Still will not do buisness again.
  • I have had exactly the same problem with this 'firm'.
I ordered the Skycaddie SGX... like everyone else got a confirmation email and it was then that I realised that neither the email NOR the website had any contact details.
I Googled their name and saw all the comments on Money Saving Expert. Amongst them was an email address.
In no uncertain terms I told them that I wanted a refund. They tried to fob me off by saying firstly, the item would be dispatched within 7 days (not what their web site states). Then when I querried this, they said the good were 'Held up in Customs'. That was the last straw. I demended a refund, they emailed back confirming the order cancelled and that my money would be refunded that day. Needless to say 14 days later and still no refund. Fortunatly I paid by credit card so can contect the charge.
I strongly suggest anyone who has had problems with this outfit to keep all correspondence and forward to the local Trading Standards office, who will prosecute. As soon as I have the address, I will post on this site.

  • Hi hypnotic golfer

I also 'purchased' the V500 from Tomorrows Golfer (as a present) on 29th July. No indication on their website that it was not in stock either then or indeed now.

Email received saying that my order was " Awaiting Shipment - Many thanks for your purchase - your order is now being processed. Please note this process usually takes 1-2 days, however we have had to order your stock in and it can take 5-7 working days."

    Credit Card debited immediately.

I waited until 6th Aug and queried the delay. Advised on 9th Aug:

"These items have been delayed by our supplier not known to our knowledge but have now been shipped to us. Many thanks for your patience and sincere apologies."

Following reading these pages, then wrote to Marc Cottrell directly on 10th Aug (marcgolf@hotmail.co.uk) saying that I wanted a refund as I needed to buy a different present as this one was clearly not going to arrive in time. I said I would ring at the Golf Club on 01452 812180 or 01452 812422 if he didn't reply.

To be fair he did saying "so sorry the sonocaddies are imported from our US supplier and are currently in customs awaiting clearance , of course will refund and send confirmation email once in office in morning."

The following afternoon a refund was processed and the credit appeared on my card this evening. :)

I today contacted Sonocaddie directly and they said " The Sonocaddie V500 is only available in the USA at moment. And the unit is preloaded with US courses only. However, you can still download the UK courses to the unit, but it does not have any satellite image and video flyover courses available."

Where Tomorrows Golfer get them from is anybody's guess. The V350 appears to be the UK version - sold on Amazon!

    Hope the above helps.
  • Many thanks Sandstorm for your input I have received from tomorrows golfer a goody bag after complaining to Marc cotterall he told me there was a hold up in customs so waited another 6 days still no V500 again emailed them did get a quick reply this time saying for some reason the goods had been sent back to USA from customs ???? I also contacted sonocaddie in the States they said that the V500 is not available as of yet in the UK all I can say is that tomorrows golfer advertise these goods knowing that they cannot deliver until a later date but hold on to the money we send them gaining the interest so by the time goods are dispatched they have accumulated some decent interest seeing as no other suppliers have the V500 in stock I will await mine from TG BUT have a letter ready to post to trading standards on this
  • I will add my experiences of Tomorrows Golfer to those above. I ordered the SG2.5 on 15th July and the payment was taken on my card the same day. Delivery was supposed to be 1-2 days but 5-7 working days because of being out of stock. When I chased the order up on 27th, I was advised that they were held up in customs, a regular excuse it seems. It was at this stage I first discovered this forum but when I expressed my concern, I was told not to worry and assured that it would be arriving soon.
On 2nd August, I asked for a refund but immediately received an e-mail saying that they were being received that day and would be sent out accordingly. I eventually got through to someone on the telephone a few days later who said it had been despatched and it eventually arrived on 10th August, almost 4 weeks after ordering. Not only that but it was supplied with an American 2 pin AC plug and with no "free accessory pack". I sent another e-mail to complain about this on 11th August but, to date have received no reply. I have to assume that the carry case supplied in the box was being described as an accessory pack.

It would seem that the Cottrels operate by taking orders, without holding stock, then placing orders in America when they have enough to obtain a sufficient discount and stall the customers as long as possible. I certainly regret dealing with such people.
  • Afternoon all,

I have been keeping one eye open to check out for anymore unhappy golfers as I have had some experience with this company. As mentioned in my previous posts I was one of the lucky gents who got hold of my skycaddie trouble free.

Since I have retired I have been lucky enough to spend more time on the green and have faced the choice of ordering more items from the mentioned store or paying more and ordering from another outlet. After consulting the wife (who like most controls the purse strings) I was talked into one afternoon giving these gents a telephone call to explain my concerns. This time I was ordering some high branded sunglasses for my daughter in law. I did point them in the direction of this forum and have been pleased with the response. They did indeed send the glasses well ahead of the delivery date stated.

    Regards Geoff
