Yes it fits. It's the exact dimensions of the OEM battery. Rated 1600mAh (up from (iirc) 1350 of the original). Can't recall the manufacturer without dismantling my phone, but I did google before purchase and couldn't find a bad word said about them. Phone runs cool all the time, from what I can tell.

It's the one sold by Mobile Fun.

No. It just logs time/date/number/inbound/outbound. There are recording apps available though. Any calls I want recorded I make through Sipdroid, as my PBXes account records all calls. :)

It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

  • Yes, but ultimately as well as costing me a new phone and a bit of time it has also cost them a sale so you think they would sort it out. Dialaphone said you can port to Orange.

I think the problem is that most of the other providers will allow the port after you have created an account with them, vodafone insist it can only be done when your account is created ( at order time).

I'm still considering it, but I'd prefer to keep my number. So far there is nothing to compete with this deal though.

I've been using the Google Nav feature at work over the last few days and have been really please with its speed and accuracy.

My Iphone'd colleagues have looked somewhat down at the mouth when they discovered it was free.

I have ordered a suction mounted holder from DX, they posted in 48hrs so it should be here within a week or so.

DX are a reputable company with free but sometimes slow delivery times from Hong Kong, I've been buying from them for a couple of years without a hitch.

yes i was aware of the dodgy extended battery claims by some manufacturers, thats why i queried this products claims. also some forums have mentioned that the contacts have got hot for some of these higher rated batteries and some were querying if these batteries damaged the phones. Cant remember which forum i read this though, it was something about extended batteries for phones.

Also, would using another companys battery void the htc 2y manufacturer guarantee for desire (three network) in case the extended battery caused problems?

That is the same capacity battery that is in the phone and is not an extended battery. As you can see from the Specification on the HTC website.

So far I've not had problems. Annecdotally it runs longer for the same amount of use, but much like everyone else, it's an entirely unscientific test.

    Just spoke to Virgin Mobile

Virgin Media Customer Deal (I'm not, but my landlord is - an interesting loophole)
£25 month, 24 months, Free Phone
600 mins, Ultd text, Ultd Internet
    Total Cost £600

My usage is nowhere near this. She said Virgin don't do customisable tariffs. I asked about an 18 month deal but she said I would never need another phone ever lol with apps and firmware updates. I tried to be smart suggesting there is always something better that comes out like with a better camera. She stayed polite surprisingly.

18 month version of the same deal
    £25 month, 18 months, Phone COst = £114.99
200 mins, Ult texts, Ultd Internet
    Total £565

Said I would ring her back if she noted on my account I was interested in the phone. I only need 100 mins, 500 texts ish, Ultd internet and an 18 month contract. Looking to try to keep the total cost below £450 (could always try cashback to get lower. Anyone know of any other deals or should I play hardball and asked to be put through to customer retentions and see where that leads?

I noticed the following mobilephonesdirect deals

    18 months, T-Mobile
100 minutes, Unltd Text, Unltd Web, £25 a month, Phone Cost £59.99

£500.99. Can get cashback for £30 from TopCashback so down to £470.99.

    18 months, Vodafone
    100 minutes, 500 texts, Unlt Web, £25 a month, Phone = Free

    £450, Cashback £30, Total Cost = £420?

Could I negotiate with Virgin on this basis? How would I play it?

    Edit, doh too slow :D

Tell them to match the Vodafail offer or threaten to walk, they either will or they won't.
  • I have had mine for ~ 2 weeks now and I have finally found a couple of (very) minor niggles.

    1. The back cover fit isn't quite perfect (but is close)

    2. When I download a pod cast in the browser I have to play it from the downloads screen - but if I go out to another app and go back to the podcast it starts playing from the beginning again (likewise for going to a call etc)

    3. Similar to item 2. but using the browser streaming player

    Very very minor tho.!
