Just checked and mobiles.co.uk still have Desires in stock on all networks. They are part of the Carphone Warehouse group. I'd never used them before but couldn't believe it was delivered on Monday morning when I ordered it on a Saturday!
Actually that deal (Orange 24 @ £25) works out very well with 8 months 1/2 price line rental, coupled with Quidco £50. Works out around £18.75 per month, £450 total0 -
Some people have seem to get the phone unlocked like me from Orange why are they doing them unlocked?0
-
The first batches most operators got hold of didn't have their custom firmwares installed. This means they were unlocked. The batches from Three from May will have Three's firmware, and will be network locked. I suspect other networks will be the same.
Early adopters did well here !Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

24 months is a long time
I'm still holding out for an 18 month
For anyone is interested dialaphone have a 12 month contract:
Free Desire
300 minutes
3000 texts
Unlimited Internet (500mb)
£40 per month
3 months free line rental (by redemption)
Works out at £360 total
Plus you can grab £35 Quidco from dialaphone, so £325 total. Works out at about £27 per month
I'm thinking of grabbing one
