Has anybody received a phone call from Vodafone today regarding the HTC Desire? I was told it'd be back in stock today, but that doesn't seem to be happening...

Vodafone only give a 500MB data allowance it says on their website by the Desire. How on earth is this enough for Android? I keep reading Android phones gobble up data.

    Hi You Again,

I'm afraid that we're still awaiting stock of the HTC Desire at the moment. As always, we're working hard with our suppliers to ensure that these great devices are in our customers hands as soon as possible.

    karatedragon -

Although there is a 500MB fair usage policy on our HTC Desire contracts. You wouldn't be charged if you were to exceed this. If you were to exceed the 500MB on a regular basis, then someone would contact you to discuss a more suitable data plan before you were charged for going outside of the 500MB.

    I hope this has helped,

    All the best,

I think it all depends how much you use internet and what for, it seems if you watch tv or something with heavy use like that a lot it wont be enough.
Ive only had it a day so too early to say about usage. but remember when at home you use wifi and thats free.

    Amazing phone though

OMG - Can you watch telly on the Desire too?

I actually don't have a TV in my WigWam so don't have a licence. Do I need a licence for the Desire?

I believe you only need a license for live TV. So if you watch things like 4 On Demand or BBC iPlayer on a Desire you shouldn't need a license.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

    Finally!

3 phone calls to t-mobile, and I finally speak to someone with sense!

I now have an unbranded Desire from Mobiles, with the Android tariff.

Shame it took 30 minutes speaking to people who don't understand the words "Where in your Terms does it say this?", and 3 minutes with a lovely lady who sorted it.

I am really quite disappointed with T-Mobile. Their call centre has become crap. They charged me 25p to speak to someone. I would rather pay £1 or £2 to speak to someone properly trained and in the UK.

What posessed T-Mobile to make the god awful business decision to shove their service centre over seas?
