Just called to play the game a little. Wasn't expecting much.

Currently on a cashback combi 35 @ £35pm (think its worked out at about £35 for the year after cashaback!) (500mins 375 sms) but I use nowhere near, so was looking for 300mins/300sms and that's still a little generous (calmed down on the texting etc in my old age).

I thought a good deal would be wanting free phone 300mins/300sms + net + bolt on for £20pm 18months.

Went on hold for 2 or 3 mins while the kid went away to see what he could do. Two options.

    a) Free phone - 18 months - 300min/300sms + unlim net + bolt on = £20pm

    b) Free phone - 24 months - 300min/300sms + unlim net + bolt on = £10pm

I didn't really want to do a 24 month deal @ 20-25pm, but personally I think the 24 month deal I was offered was pretty brilliant, so I took it.

    Sat here in shock really.

Ask them to text you the deal so you have proof. I did that :D This sounds good though. Someone apparently got a 12 ppm 18 months contract, free handset, 300 mins, unltd text/internet. LOL!!!!

It wouldn't surprise me having worked in sales for a number of years some of the tricks kids pull to get themselves a bit of commission thinking they can get away with it and talk themselves out of it. I have literally heard it all! The rule of thumb is if it sounds to good to be true it probably is ;)

I'd call them straight back and double check EVERYTHING if i were you

I have the deal SMS Bunny says about above. No mention of handset type (just says new phone), but the 24 months 300m/300sms + unlimited net is on there.

Guy mentioned the 7 day return policy if not happy witht he handset too.

To be honest I know it was the HTC Desire we talked about, so I expect it to be delivered.

I've no reason to doubt them, and I'm no mug.

I would have thought nearly a £500 brand new handset on a £240 contract would be reason enough to doubt them or at least double check.

Heres hoping you do get the Desire then you really have a terrific deal :)
Comp wins 2010 (Feb onwards) - loads of books, CD, Toys, Photographic lighting rig, Mobile phone, 16GB ipod Nano, Digital camera

    Comp wins 09 - £4500, 08 - £345.70!

I believe the handset has already passed all of Oranges software testing. The software looks pretty much the same as what was on the Hero

I had a phone call tonight at 5pm from the T-mobile sales advisor who I dealt with on Monday. She told me that my phone wouldn't be delivered until Thursday of next week. I asked her if everybody's were delayed and she said yes. She gave me the option of cancelling if I want to.

When i spoke to T-Mob yesterday evening (some time after 5) they said i should still expect delivery tomorrow (Sat) by Royal Mail SD.

Been waiting long enough for this phone!

Called them up to see what the crack was. They blamed HTC for not sending them out and confirmed it will be Wednesday next week before they come in. Time to have another look at what new deals are available elsewhere I think.

No sorry, only that they wouldn't be receiving the phones until 31st, and the first batch would be sent out for delivery on Thursday 1st. Funnily enough, that date coincides with the official HTC release date, so maybe it's HTC who've delayed them. It wouldn't surprise me if mobilephonesdirect hadn't complained about all the preorder cancellations they got because T-mobile were releasing their own batch early.
