  • Dilemma.. don't want to leave 3, but, I'm not really seeing a choice.

Over 24 months, the costs work out thus:

    Three:

Mobile Broadband: £180 (50% off for having a mobile contract)
    SIM £15/30 day: £360
    HTC Desire: £400 (SIM Free)
    Total: £940

    T-Mobile:
Mobile Broadband: £360 (losing the 50% discount)
    SIM £10/24 month: £240 (100 mins/unlimited texts/unlimited internet)
    HTC Desire: £164
    Quidco: -£20
    Total: £744

    £196 difference!

3 also don't have a release date for the Desire, so you could be waiting another month or so for the phone.

I jumped ship because of this.

Just loathed to do it, despite the £200 saving. Been with T-Mobile before and had no end of signal issues (many years ago). To some degree, better the devil you know.
    Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

For me, the sim-free is well worth it.

I'm a Canadian living in the UK and most likely will take my phone with me. Don't want to get caught up in a contract. And hell, don't want to deal with any carrier junk or branding they might have offloaded on the phone itself, like Orange does.

I would have thought nearly a £500 brand new handset on a £240 contract would be reason enough to doubt them or at least double check.

Heres hoping you do get the Desire then you really have a terrific deal :)

Recieved the phone today - its definately a HTC Desire - lol.

Checked online and my tariff has been changed to Pay Monthly 15 (24 months) - 300min/300sms - unlimited net - plus the booster I asked for (europe/australia) - £15 per month.... Plus £5pm loyalty discount.

    So yes - I'm happy.

    A free HTC Desire, 300min/300sms + net + booster - 2yrs - £10 per month.

    Can't complain at all.

(Haven't charged i yet - so lets see if its DOA!!! - LOL!!!)
