I just called T-Mobile and was told that my handset should be with me by Friday or Saturday this week. Heres hoping.
I called them too, said the same thing to me. Why they couldn't have just said that in the first place instead of freezing the order on the website making it look like there was a problem...0 -
Well at least T-Mobile are doing something lol. Just phoned Orange, they haven't even got a release date for the Desire.., and as an upgrade customer I can do nothing til the release date (whenever that may be). Politely said that that was a bit frustrating but nothing i can do. Not happy about the 24 month contract terms available right now either. I'll be giving 30 days notice as soon as I am 30 days before end of my contract I think. I did point out that other sites had release dates but nothing doing!0

I can't get to first base lol. Accessed Android Market thru the handset, and can't even see a download button when u are looking at android apps, I did find Android's terms and conditions thru the help button at the bottom (without checking which I believe u can't download the apps) but can't find a check box anywhere.
Is there an Android for Dummies site anywhere for those who can't get to first base lolol?
However, I think if you're not set up with Google Checkout (ie. have a card registered) it cause a bit of an issue. Could be to do with that.0 -

Its currently in testing with Orange and was told most likely 2-3 weeks.
I find it strange everyone here seems so intent on rushing ahead and getting it on T-mobile as it appears to be available a week or 2 before the other networks without even seeing what their current network can offer them as an upgrade. Think theres going to be some rash, hasty contracts being taken out in the next few days. Granted if your already with T-mobile and they can offer you an exceptionally good deal like some are reporting then why not but personally i dont see the point in rushing ahead and changing networks for the sake of waiting a few weeks longer to see what the competition can do, you may be pleasantly surprisedComp wins 2010 (Feb onwards) - loads of books, CD, Toys, Photographic lighting rig, Mobile phone, 16GB ipod Nano, Digital cameraComp wins 09 - £4500, 08 - £345.70!0 -
It'll be launching on Orange by mid April, and its certainly worth waiting for0

Last of 3 consecutive contracts with T Mobile finished prior to Xmas and I moved to PAYG.
Called up to see is I was eligible for any upgrade - nothing offered - is that normal?
Also told I wouldn't be able to keep my number without porting to another network first - is that normal?
Told them about the deal with mobilephones direct and she said they couldn't match it or come close
Give Up or try again??0 -

Two reasons spring to mind without even trying hard....
1. Orange are !!!!
2. T-Mobile data = 3GB, Orange = 500MB(?)0 -

As a pay as you go customer, you will be offered whatever is on their website i.e. whatever a new customer can get. To be honest they are good deals, as even existing monthly contracts are known for getting worse deals than new customers. 'better' deals are reserved for existing customers who spend a fair amount each month.
You were misinformed about not being to keep your number without porting. On the t-mobile site, you will notice one of the first questions in checkout is if you are an existing PAYG customer and whether you want to keep your number. They will do a PAYG > contract migration for you without leaving the network. It is only PAYG to PAYG or contract to contract they won't do (same as anywhere else), in that case you would have to move networks.0
