Hi all.
Well I just got off the phone to T Mobile retentions. Spoke to a really nice chap who gave me an excellent (I feel it's excellent at least, it is tailored to my use perfectly) deal, with minimal fuss and no haggling required.
It is a 24 month contract, with the following
HTC Desire (free)
900 minutes
500 texts
unlimited internet
flexible booster (made it unlimited tmobile-tmobile for now)
voicemail booster (unlimited voicemail)
08 booster (30 minutes per month to 08 numbers)
insurance (first month free)
All for £31.99 a month. I have the option of cancelling the insurance after the first month and the rest will remain in place for £25p/m if I wish to pursue cheaper insurance.
Do you guys think that is a good deal? To me, it seems almost perfect in terms of usage habits. With a bit of caution I should never really go over the £32 a month whereas in the past I went over by loads......I'm pretty chuffed.
Thanks Woody and Bunifah for all the advice.0 -
I got fed up ringing t-mobile retentions as I always got crappy offers, so I've just transferred my number to an orange PAYG and will be back with T-mob soon as a new customer with lovely new customer discounts0

This is a side issue and off topic, but hoping someone can help. I used my OH's Hero to play with Android so I know what to do when I do get a Desire handset. Wanted to download some android apps (he doesn't have a clue either as he hasn't looked at Android market either).
I can't get to first base lol. Accessed Android Market thru the handset, and can't even see a download button when u are looking at android apps, I did find Android's terms and conditions thru the help button at the bottom (without checking which I believe u can't download the apps) but can't find a check box anywhere.
Is there an Android for Dummies site anywhere for those who can't get to first base lolol?0 -
In the market just select the app which gives you all the details about it and then scroll down to the bottom to find the download button.0

Only Tmobile is releasing the desire on 26th.
Other networks are later, like 1st april.
I would assume that there will be a dummy/demo phones in t mobile stores on friday.
I'm gonna check it out on fri!! :j (if there isnt a mad rush /queue for a demo)0 -
Looks like t-mobile have some issues with supply. There's a thread on the forums on their site about people who have placed orders that are going nowhere (me included - 24hrs). Looks like they're fobbing people off with some story about a glitch and have closed registration to the forums.
Might pay to wait a few days if this is how t-mobile treat new customers.0 -
Desire is a very apt name.Everybody wants one! Can see some serious supply problems in the coming weeks.0

I just called T-Mobile and was told that my handset should be with me by Friday or Saturday this week. Heres hoping.0

Its with tmobile.
Its 100 mins and 100 texts, but with the booster i get unlimited texts, unlimited internet.
I don't really phone people too much on my phone, and in my 3 years with 3, my average minutes used is 56, so 100 is plenty for me.
Plus with unlimited internet you can use Skype.
I need a smartt phone for work, as im a web designer, so need access to my email 24/7.0
