Go to the mobilephonesdirect site, they have a much better deal.
They have the same tariff, 300mins, unlimted txt and web for £25 month for 18 months. And the phone is free + £30 quidco cashback.
Not sure what the fair usage for O2 is but on t-mobile its 1gb.0 -
Been researching the Desire deals quite a bit over the last couple of days...
Quite a few out there, but everyone seems to be wanting a 24 month contract!
Best I can find on a 12 month contract is from dial-a-phone, 300 minutes, 500mb data on voda... free phone...£30 pm if you include the redemption rubbish...
Other than that, there are some good deals direct from vodafone on twitter... £65 phone with 300 minutes + data for £25 a month on an 18 month contract.
Also had no luck with O2 retentions... seems they don't want their customers anymore...0 -
On another forum a few people have claimed to have got the phone for 30 quid and then 15 a month from t-mobile on a 24 month contract. I think that was unlimited internet/texts and 300 mins. I have yet to phone them but shall try tomorrow I think.0

I'd advise against doing anything with MPD. I ordered my HTC Desire with them on the 4th of May and still haven't recieved it yet. The last update I recieved from them was Thursday and apparently their Desire stock was checked into a warehouse under a wrong name and the can't get them released. They are slow at replying to emails and have taken their live help off the website. A quick google of them and HTC Desire shows a slew of horror stories. I came here looking to see if anyone else was having trouble.0 -
I ordered a Desire on internet talker 300, £20/m from 3 website 10 days ago, I have heard nothing from them yet other than the initial confirmation email,. just hoping the phone arrives eventually. There is no order tracking facility at all on 3's site. I am not very impressed.0

all of the stockists are having stock issues with regard to the unprecdented demad that has happened. i ordered one from buymobile phones and was told that they have a backorder of over 500 to deal with so i may be waiting for some weeks
i wanted a tmobile contract as orange does not have a good service in my area.0 -

I got mine with no order stock problems from worry free mobiles about a month ago.0 -
When I gave O2 a ring to see if they had any stock, I was thinking of cancelling with MPD if i could get a decent deal from them, they said they had stock in and it would be sent out the same day. Unfortunately their deals weren't great, couldn't match the one I could be getting.0

My friend got the sim-only deal from O2 (15pm, 300mins/unlimited texts & internet) on the 12 month contract plus he bought a sim-free Desire off them too for £285. Sounds like a bargain! They confirmed that they had stock.0

@billa_champion
How did he manage that? That's a saving of a good £100 off the sim-only price, I'm a couple of months into my 12 month simplicity.0
