Same same! I was gutted last week when I looked again to get the £10/month contract - perfect for me as a light user - it came with 100mins, unlt. texts booster and 3Gb data allowance included! Kicking myself... want this phone badly!
Any new deals around for the Desire? Just want it at a reasonable price, as for contract: internet is the only thing I'd demand, minutes/texts I can live with rationing. ^^ Was thinking maybe sim-free, maybe ebay?
Thanks.0 -
I know what you mean, I've been a G1 user for 18 months and my contract is up. Recommended the deal to friends when the Desire first came out and a few went for 24 month £10 contracts. No joy with T-Mobile retentions, no good deals, but they are bound by the high pricing due to stock shortages apparently.
Anyway, despite being a low user, I started putting all the deals into a spreadsheet as it was difficult to compare with various cashbacks etc. Decided to go for £20 Desire on 18 month contract with T-Mobile, 600 mins, 500 text and unlimited data for £30 a month, but 5 months are half price and £50 Quidco. Hope it all tracks as it worked out at as a total of £435 which was only £15 more than the 100 min/txt deal. This deal was on mobiles.co.uk0 -
Smash, just make sure you get the 3GB Android Internet allowance. You probably won't initially but if you contact T Mobile they'll sort it out. I used the support guys on Twitter to sort mine and they couldn't have been more helpful.
I went through mobiles.co.uk and my Quidco tracked and was paid within five weeks. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

Thanks for that, Quidco has tracked at 1p as they say, so it's good to know it works out. I've had contact with T-Mobile on Twitter and found them to be responsive and helpful, so I will call tomorrow to confirm.0

You can check whther you're on the 3GB allowance by downloading the speedtest app and running it. If you're download speed is 350kbps on 3G you're on the slower 1GB allowance.
Contact the twitter guys to get it changed and then you'll have 3GB allowance and unlimited speed. Mine went from 350kbps to 2000kbps on 3g.It's my problem, it's my problem

After battling Vodafone over their 500Mb hard limit data introduction, VF retentions have come up with a very good deal:
- £20/month for 18 months
- Free HTC Desire
- 600 mins
- UL texts
- 500Mb internet
...
The Joys ....
Called them up today, and quote:
'No such deal exists'
'Not on Vodafone'
'It's called Desire for a reason'
'We cannot check other people's accounts' (even though the rep y'day asked for a number on which that deal was made)
Me: ' No worries, can I get my PAC code please, at least when the 4G Ipod comes out, the prices should come off some.'
VF: 'that's ok if you are willing to wait 4 months / the iphone will not be out until Xmas / what is it that you are looking for'
me: 'My PAC code?'
Waiting to hear from them now ....One day I want to be the pigeon...... and not the statue!0 -

Just contacted Twitter team, they said I am on 1GB as I bought from Carphone Warehouse. If I want 3GB, I have to pay extra £5 a month.0 -

That seems odd. I bought via mobiles.co.uk (also carphone warehouse I think) and they changed mine straight away!
I'd hassle them again. It's my problem, it's my problem

Yes, I think I will call them directly, no disrespect to the Twitter team, they are quick to respond, but I do wonder about consistency.
When did you get your phone and "switch" to 3GB? was it quite recently? Also, did you get any of the flexible boosters?
Lastly... just been emailing mobiles.co.uk to cancel the insurance and gadget Helpline this "helpfully" tacked on.0
