I got mine in early May I think. Got it switched to 3GB after a couple of weeks.

Funnily enough I phoned up and got told I would have to pay £5 extra for the 3Gb allowance. Then when I contacted the Twitter guys they sorted it within five minutes without any questions. It seems to depend on exactly who you speak to.

Oirignally my account had the 1GB internet free booster on it. When they gave me the proper 3Gb allowance I changed it to the unlimited texts booster.

When I spoke to the Twitter Guys I emailed them asking

"as per messages on twitter I want to find out if I'm on the unlimited interent with 3GB FUP"

They then replied and said "you have a 3gb allowance and web'n'walk plus on your account. Thanks"

I did a quick speedtest and I did!

I didn't mention having bought the phone through mobiles.co.uk

Seems to be luck of the draw, I emailed them my details (phone number, address) and they obviously checked and saw it came from mobiles.co.uk or CW as they said. Someone on hotukdeals who posted the deal said he had the same difficulty and had to be quite firm with them. Think I will call them, although I wasn't particularly impressed by their attitude yesterday.

Latest response from Twitter team is "we do not upgrade anyone to wnw+ for free as it is the responsibility of the 3rd party that sold you the contract to add this."

After seemingly months of calls about my old contract with Vodafone, I received, firstly:

About six weeks ago an £80 credit to my account and the contract I wanted (SIM only) until the HTC Desire came in.

HTC Desire now in and offered

18 month contract, £30 per month including VAT

    600 anytime minutes
    Unlimited texts
    1Gb of mobile internet data
    HTC Desire free of charge
    £20 accessories credit
£45 credit (in lieu of 16Gb memory card as none available)

    Deal or no deal?

    Hi there
I've got 2 phones on T-Mobile up for renewal.
We’ve been looking at the desire (my wife loves it)
Best I’ve found is on beepy

    300 mins
    300 text
    Plus internet
    £15 per month
    But £99 for the phone
    Plus £40 back from quidco
    For 24 months so £459 - quidco ( if it pays ):j

T-Mobile has offered the same but no quidco plus £140 for the phone.
    For 24 months so £ 500

300 mins is more than enough for us.
    You guys seen any better?
    Thanks mike

After battling Vodafone over their 500Mb hard limit data introduction, VF retentions have come up with a very good deal:

    - £20/month for 18 months
    - Free HTC Desire
    - 600 mins
    - UL texts
    - 500Mb internet

Now the question is, can I trust VF...

Many thanks for this - I have (after a few attempts) managed to get this deal as well. They were unable to increase it to 1Gb I/C at that price, but I think that I can live with the 500Mb limit.

Needless to say it took 3 calls, and then the retentions team ot call me with my PAC code and then matc the above. The phone should be with my Mon - Weds - Now the question is, can I trust VF...:D

Just spoke to T-Mobile, they said I am on a monthly 3GB (fair use) allowance, but that seems to be via a booster? So trying the Speedtest app (Xtremelabs) and I get :

    Download: 215.4 Kbit/s
    Upload: 23.9 Kbit/s

Not very consistent responses from T-Mobile, Twitter team says tough, you bought from Carphone Warehouse so you only get 1GB. Speaking to them direct, they say I am on 3GB.... which is it?

Those are very slow speeds for 3G.

The only reliabel way to find out what package you are on is to do a speedtest in an area with a good 3G signal.

If I check my account on "My T Mobile" it doesn't seem to say anything about the 3GB allowance.

that seems very slow. i get upto 5400kbps download speeds on three network and upload speeds of upto 540kbps i think. i have checked this a few times with various speed test apps. i remember reading on mse forums that someone else on three was getting nearly 7200kbps downloads elsewhere. i live in yorkshire so might not be the best area for great internet speeds but still miles better than the speeds you seem to be getting. better talk to your network. are you actually getting a 3g / hsdpa connection? or are you getting slower types of internet connections.

It's showing a HSDPA, so yes, it's way slower than I would expect. 3G speed will vary depending upon the cell loading, the more subscribers, the lower the bandwidth available.

I am in south east London, so there are bound to be more users in this area. But even at 11pm, I'm still getting just 217 kbit/s.
