I love reading this thread and actually have a post of my own to add...
I've actually had a lovely frugal day today(excluding the massive amount spent on wood for a gate at Wickes ) My DH got given an enormous bag of runner beans yesterday so I've chopped, blanched and frozen them; he'll be eating them till Christmas! Plus my lovely Mum gave me £20 of days out vouchers to do something with the kids over the holidays :T

Took back some trousers from the next sale that didn't fit me. Used that money in TX Maxx to but a bumper bottle of Tigi shampoo (not 100% money saving but I reckon it saved my about £6). Also took back some books to Waterstones (a duplicate and one with a printing error) and got two replacements. Also got some fragrance moisturisurer samples in house of Fraser and a lovely sample of a deodorant bar from Lush. So not a bad day :-)2013 Free Money - £363.44 Topcashback

Been having a bit of a declutter, so I went into the loft and found a box full of old plates (nice ones) I'd forgotten about; they are now in use! It's a bit of a mystery that I put them in the loft in the first place (maybe it was a "safe place for them"?)0

My son went on holiday Saturday and asked me and OH to look after his house and allotment..........and to pick anything that needs picking! and to share it round the family.
so far this week I have picked a large punnet of small pearshaped yellow tomatoes (gorgeous), some beetroot, a cabbage or two, and a huge bin bag of runner beans!
as instructed I have shared them around, but still ended up with a large carrier bag full of runner beans so spent an hour or so today preparing them and freezing a couple of bagfuls for myself but also put the majority in sons freezer for him. I am trying to work out what the heck I can do with all the runner beans which I know will be ready to pick tomorow - the only thing I can think of is to distribute them to the pensioners and/or put them on my wall for people to help themselves as I did with radishes!
so not only have I filled my own freezer with lovely runner beans and shredded cabbage, my sons freezer and most of the families, I just hope that the corn on the cob I see he has growing will come my way (or is that greedy of me?)0 -

Today, some blouses from a friend who has lost weight. I remember looking at one of them and thinking how perfect it was for patchwork.0 -
