The coffee cart lady at work is always trying to feed me up as she thinks I look tired (with two little kids, she's usually right) so she often gives me a free banana and today it was a danish pastry which was about to go stale but was perfectly edible, nom nom nom!

I live close to Hylands Park where the V Festival was held last weekend. Took the dog there yesterday and found a brand new washing up bowl (still had the label on it), a pair of safety wellies (they also looked brand new) and 3 pairs of trainers all of which looked relatively new just covered in mud!

I am keeping the bowl for myself, have washed off the wellies and trainers and put them on ebay!

Two years ago I found a pair of Lacoste trainers which were my size - I wear them every day for work!

There was tons of stuff in the park just left behind - hundreds of tents, sleeping bags, chairs, barbeques etc (I lost count of the pairs of shoes and trainers!). I can't believe people can't be bothered to take stuff home with them and that they can afford to just leave it all behind.

I bought 50 tealights, thought they were reduced to 90p but they went through at 60p

On the news yesterday they were saying that all the tents that had been left were going to be gathered up and sent to Pakistan to help with the floods, not sure if people had been asked to donate them or just couldn't be bothered to take them down

My OH works for a supermarket, and last week at a staff meeting they were given a pack of chocolate chip cookie mix, it is supposed to make 6 cookies but when I made it up on Monday I managed to make 14, all of which were a decent size, so the 6 would have been huge. Also last week, I made a moussaka and while trying to work out the cost of it, I looked through my receipt to find out how much the courgette cost, but I couldn't find it listed so it obviously wasn't put through the till!

The cob nut tree which over hangs my garden is beginning to drop the nuts. Last year I had 3lb, (with permission from the orchard owner of course), this year the tree looks even more prolific :D.

My BF likes the supermarket runner beans - the ones in long slivers IYGWIM

I mentioned this to my mum and she straight away said "Ohh I have two of those things, do you want one? I don't like them" promptly followed by "I've got some home grown runner beans here if you want some?"

What did I say??!!!??? I was chuffed, my mum always cut her runner beans into angled slices which I didn't like (perhaps because she over boiled them) but now I can make the long slivers and steam them ... yummy!

BTW, does anyone know if the slivers freeze OK?
