Picked up two bramley apples from a help yourself box outside a house on a neighbouring street and also found loads of damsons in the park. On the downside DS, 3.5 and old enough to know better, took a bite out of a pear in M&S and so we had to buy it - 63p for one blardy pear!! Swoon.

Picked up a white black out blind for £1 in wilkinsons as it had no fixings.

I have the fixings already at home. Proper cost nearly £16 .

  • 1 of my neighbours was going away and sent down a bag of onions, 2 large lettuces, tomatoes and carrots fot the rabbit!! The rabbit got the lettuces for a few days food and we got the rest!! I also got a beautiful strapless summer dress with beading for 1 quid at a car-boot. I'm going to the opening of a play and it will look quite swanky with my 3 quid shoes and 50p bag from the CS!!

  • I had quite a good day today:

55p for 4 pints of organic Duchy of Cornwall milk
    200g Chinchilla yarn for £2
    Huge jar of capers £1
And lots and lots of reduced yarn from eBay - all in the post already :j

Also, got some transport costs paid back, and a cheque from an insurance company as payment for a truck driving into my car :j.

Found a pair of brand new curtains, still in their packed in one of OH's moving boxes. They were originally a bargain buy that didn't fit the windows they were intended for and they didn't fit our office window either. 54" drop and 90" width, but we needed the other way around so I unpicked the header tape and re-sewed it on to the shorter side. Luckily the fabric works the other way up too! Voila - brand new curtains for my office!!

And even better than that, when I took the manky ones down that were here when we moved in they had a blackout lining hung behind. After a quick wash, these have now been hung behind our bedroom curtains that were letting in the light! :j

Went to pick some kids clothes up from Freecycle and in the ladies garden was some apple and plum trees. Well it would of been rude not to ask if I could pick some, so much was on the floor. Will be making lots of apple type things I think.
  • Dropped some stuff off at the charity shop and got a new, with labels, regatta coat for DH, rrp £45 for £14. Result. DH is too tight to spend his cash on a coat, but even he can cope with £14.

  • I posted yesterday the other day about my lovely dress for 1 quid, well today my aunt came to visit and give me a lovely early birthday present. It's a jewellery set, earring, necklance and bangle in the exact colour of the dress!! Lovely!!
