Today we went to visit OHs sister and she gave me a pair of brand new Iron Fist boots because they don't fit her. They're a tiny bit pinchy on my toes but because they're fabric I'm sure it won't matter and they'll wear in a bit.
I do loads of Hama beads pictures and my supply is running low, I've been looking on eBay for them but because I'm skint at the moment I can't really afford to buy a load more, but yesterday I found a Hama Sports mobile kit in a charity shop for 99p. Some of the beads had been used but there was still a good few hundred in there to keep me going for a little whileD'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0 -

I've seen them and they're a really good price but I'm too far from an Ikea to make it worth it. Shame because I used to live in Newcastle and go to Ikea all the time before I started up doing Hama crafts!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

You must be one of the peeps bidding against me then! I found mine (the Ikea ones) in a charity shop, and they had a whole Hama box set too, but I don't make Hama art with them so don't need the boards etc and didn't buy it. I'd never thought to look for them in charity shops before though. Have to say I also got a bargain bagful on eBay the other day.I wish I lived near an Ikea (or could drive) as I want the Klappar Plocka ones but have the Pyssla ones. Have noticed there are now ones from Tesco and other manufacturers too, on the market - just wish I could find them locally not only eBay - I don't think we even have any toy shops in town anymore except Toys R Us.
What I really really want is the silver metallic ones!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
Anyway I digress, today I gave away a clothes rail via Freegle and tried out a cake recipe via the lovely peeps on this board. Turned out pretty well and I think I can improve on it a bit too - even better it uses all store cupboard ingredients that I have plenty of!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

I'm sure ages ago they were everywhere, Wilkinsons and places had own brand ones but I can't find them now, maybe they'll come in when all the Summer toys do? I always keep my eyes peeled whenever I go to car boot sales or charity shops now, and I've asked my mam to do the same! I bought some off eBay ages ago which is what started my obsession as I wanted to make coasters for my OHs Christmas present, I can't imagine I paid more than a pound or two to try them out, now there's never any on there for that price
To try not to derail completely, I bought a book called Gifts from the Kitchen in the Works sale, showed it to my mam and she said 'ooh I love things like that' so in the next week I'm going to make one of the recipes from there and take some for her and send some off for my boyfriend's mam too. I think maybe an onion chutney or something would be niceOHs mam sent us a massive jar of homemade jam a while ago so would be nice to return the favour.

Mornin everyone, i got a washing machine off freegle, an 8kg drum just under 2 years old, the lady who had it had been told by a repair man it couldnt be fixed. Two hours of my husband and brother in laws time, i was presented with a new washing machine that runs like a dream, and all for 0.00 (my favourite price lol), hope your all ok. Deb xx0

2 stools, 2 chairs and a very loud sideboard in a 60's/70's vein. A big thank-you to the fly tippers. The most usable haul so far ! (makes a nice change from tyres!)All that is gold does not glitter

Today I picked up 2 books on campsites in Britain from a freecycler. I've recently bought a tent so the books will save me a few pounds. I did give away my old tv/stand/speakers on Saturday via freecycle.
I am picking up some bags of chicken poo/sawdust tomorrow for my composters, again via freecycle.
I have also today made enquiries about teaching English abroad to children. They do 2 month + placements in places such as Thailand/Vietnam/China etc. I thought it might be a cheap way of getting to see more of the world especially as I live alone and have no one to go on holiday with.0 -
Im new on here but have become frugal recently and i have found that my new favourite word is free.
Yesterday I got a table and chairs for the garden for my favourite price, free. my dad didn't want it anymore.
i also got cot that 6 months old for £20 instead of £80 for same one.
Last week i got a double buggy for £50 only used for 9 months, new they are £500.
I also got some plants that had been reduced to £1 in B&Q today.
Curtains that were reduced from £30 to £10 that i had been looking for for ages but didn't have a spare £30.
Very good week for me.
Strange how bargins make me really happy.Mum to one gorgeous little boy and one gorgeous little girl.
