Passing on the good fortune I used the Boots AC machine toothpaste vouchers to get 'free' toothpaste to donate to the chapel's foodbox scheme.
That's a really kind thing to do.
I gave a Burger King voucher for half price entry to legoland/sealife etc to a family and they were really chuffed. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Went into my local charity shop, and came away with 5 of these for £2.99 "http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz58/deborah64/P1020303.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

My DH entered a raffle (free too!) and won third prize which is a freeview digirecorder thingy, worth just over £100. :j It's not something we would have gone and bought because it's far too expensive, but it's a great toy
I love the fact that a programme can be paused when you are watching it! (OK I know some people have had Sky+ for years, but it's a novelty for me

A recipe i saw in one of my books the other day required 300g so asked the lady for some around that weight, it was slightly short but only cost 25p so no biggy if i dont like it. Also treated hubby to some marmite cheddar reduced to £3per kg instead of £13per kg. We only went in to take his prescription.
Oh he's a lucky devil - I adore the Marmite cheese (though generally I'm not a big Marmite fan) but it's so expensive, and the min babybel sized ones aren't as nice (and crumbly) as a piece from the big one!
Must admit I don't like Feta though at that price I would have bought it for my mum - if I see a great bargain I'll pick it up if I know she will have it (and I have spare fridge/freezer space).A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

Those are pretty. Our local charity shops are greedy, and would easily charge that much for one plate :eek:0 -
Well done justamum and hubby, you both must be thrilled,
i would be the same, would love sky+ but too expensive and i have been with sky for over 10 years, and the "free" boxes are usually for new customers
enjoy using your prize0 -
I stopped using our local charity shops because they are pathetically priced. I went through a stage of collecting Aynsley little sweetheart. I saw some pieces in the window of one shop i didnt have and went into enquire on the prices. I almost laughed in her face when they were more expensive than the new prices in the local Coop. I told her exactly how much each piece was in the Coop to be told ''yes dear, but we are a charity we have to make money somehow''. I left it at that cos i knew there was no way she would get the money for it.
On another note i had used to volunteer for Scope and they have a pricing book out the back. A set price per item from a high street shop, one for designer and another for items they deem market stall quality. They didnt seem to get very good quality bric a brac donated or books but never sold anything at daft prices yet the locals prefer to go in the Heart foundation or Oxfam.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
