Morning everyone, first time I have been on this thread and it's amazing some of the things people have got for free/not very much

Our frugalness for the week extends to my OHs mountain bike. Took it to the shop yesterday as the back wheel was wobbly and left it to be fixed. When we went to get it back the owner of the shop had replaced the whole wheel and not charged us anything for it!

Managed to get rid off 2 pairs of brand new jeans (son had out grown them before wearing them as he lives in shorts all year round) and a load of board games the kids no longer play on freecycle yesterday and then noticed someone had set up a for sale/ wanted section on Facebook for my area so sold 6 of hubbies xbox 360 games for £20, not bad for saying some of the games would only get £2 cash back in Game. This money then went on to pay for two new suitcases for 2 of the kids as they are going on a free all expenses paid trip to Margate this weekend with the local Youth club as a reward for exceptional behaviour and care and consideration towards others in the group at the last two half term fun weeks that have been held.

I got a lovely succulent plant for 30p, a (genuine) Pyrex casserole dish for 50p a rack I can use to hang my jewellery on for 50p cute little toy bunny for 20p (couldn't resist, he really is cute) and a glass storage jar (that I'd really been wanting) for 10p at the big church fete today! We go every year and I always manage to pick up at least a couple of bargains. My mum managed to pick up a few books for just 30/40p each (hardbacks too)!

My mum need to buy my dad some socks so I told her which sports shop we buy ours in and she picked up 10 pairs of Umbro ones for £5 - they should last way longer than the ones she'd bought before (that had cost more too probably)!

Oh and we needed milk - 2 Cravendale are £2.50 at Tesco at the moment and I had a 50p off voucher too - Premium milk, bargain price! and I had a spare money of voucher which I gave to my mum so she got hers cheaper too.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

An individual sized old style slow cooker for £4 from a charity shop :D

2 massive bunches of 6ft reeds for plants (one for a friend) for £2 a go:money:

whoopsied organic eggs for £1.20 for 6 (which saved me coming home and walking the other direction to get some, as i don't feel great today :o, so it cost me 30p more than my normal eggs, but not £2 for 6 or extra milage?!)
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Yesterday my mother gave me her "old" Halogen Oven. I have used it twice today, it's wonderful! It means I don't have to microwave stuff, as my old oven is expensive to use. I bought some baking potatoes today, am gonna have oven cooked baked potatoes - instead of the tastless ones that I usually do in the microwave. In fact, I am going to try and cook virtually everything in it :D

(The baking potatoes were on offer, I think 54p for 4 big spuds)
