This is my first post on this thread and i find it a bit daunting to be honest but here goes, i got a beautiful 6ft by 3ft coat rack with a brolly stand on it from a lovely lady from freecycle over the weekend, she even delivered it for me so i gave her some diesel money for her time but i still couldn't have bought it for that price.
    That wasn't so bad,thanks

I saw your post on the shabby chic thread mrsmuggy, I love it when you get fab things from freecycle. I've quite often been more successful when I've asked for something (as you did), rather than replying to an offer.

I admit that I havent posted on this thread before.

I havent used freegle for ages now but have had some vintage christmas tree decorations from someone as they had been left in her maisonette by the previous owner (some were broken but most of them weren't and now I put them on my own tree).

There is someone I know from the networking group that I am in who is a beauty therapist and only uses organic products, she has developed a natural nail polish remover so I said that if she sent me a bottle to test I would give her feedback on it..well this little bottled arrived yesterday and I have now had to paint my nails.

I love buying things in charity shop especially old wooden furniture which looks a bit tired because I cover the floor with old newspapers and then start manually sanding it and then varnishing it. My telephone table is an old card table that is on a cantilever so in its current state it looks like a hostess trolly but the lid moves and then it becomes a card table...it cost me £10 and having seen it in books etc know that it is in fact worth a lot more.

My o/h has saved a very large wooden crate from being scrapped at work, it has a pallet base so will be ideal for our compost bin at the allotment.

I always read this thread, in awe of what some of you come across! Well today, I had something I could share (and was embarrassingly happy about being able to!)

A colleague has decided to change his garden completely, and had bought a huge bag of compost that he no longer wants, along with some seeds and pots :D

So now I just have to get over my hatred of gardening and I can start growing the seeds :D:D
