Idiots on the motorway!

I don't know what all this fuss about middle lane "hoggers" is all about as if I'm in the slow lane and someone is slower in the middle lane I just pass them in the slow lane.
There are quite a lot of things that the Americans have got wrong but allowing overtaking on either side is one of the good things about the freeway system and we should allow it here.0 -
It is only hogging if there are other car's there that they are causing an obstruction to. When it is busy for example. If there is nothing around I often drive in whatever lane - and you are legally entitled to drive anywhere on the road as long as you are not causing an obstruction to other drivers, this was told to me when I was doing an Advanced Driving Course.
If the OP had been driving in the middle lane and the outside lane was clear (must of been as this is where they moved to) there was NO reason for the Audi to flash them as they could have easily overtaken in the outside lane. So nothing to do with middle lane drivers.
So what these cars/van did they have no excuse for really.0 -

Doesn't sound right to me...

My wife and I were targeted by a nutcase on the motorway. She was driving.
I picked up a video camera and made to begin filming him. I also brandished a mobile phone. He immediately dropped back and left the motorway at the next exit."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
Maybe the OP was driving in the wrong lane, should have been on inside lane if no other cars about, but they were doing 70, so why was the Audi and Transit vans overtaking?!
Breaking the speed limit, tut tut tut.0 -

Breaking the speed limit, tut tut tut.
When the speedo on my Ford KA reads 70 the speed on my GPS is about 64mph so they might not have been doing a true 70.0 -

No they're not - saved me from a nasty accident once (changing lanes when tired). If the other driver hadn't sounded their horn I probably wouldn't have noticed them.
Yes, I pulled over at the next services after crawling along in the left hand lane after that.0
