Hi Just wanted to say that I have had my first success. I set out to pay off my outstanding balance on my American Express card in April 07. I sent two letters. First reply was standard we are doing nothing wrong. Second reply was we will look into it. Heard nothing for a month and was about to start court action when an offer to pay off my balance and give me a bit extra came through. I accepted and have now closed down the account and banked the rest. Thanks so much for the help here on this site. About to take LLoyds to Court as the patient waiting game has not worked in that case so wish me Luck.
    Cheers  :T

£1852 won back from Halifax this afternoon.

10 weeks from sending first letter to today's success. Sent first letter in post using template in middle of March. Letter of acknowedgement soon followed and after 7 weeks I got the Halifax standard refusal letter. Quickly followed by phone call from myself and a fortnight later an offer around £900 made by Halifax. After a few days I picked up phone again today and within 2 minutes was offered all charges back. I conceded interest but since I live and bank in Scotland I should only technically claim 5 years. Now I am refunded 6 years with very minimal hassle.

Thanks to all on this superb site.:T

Well after reading similar stories on here decided to add up all my charges. Due to being a bit young and foolish with my account was amazed at the total and for one minute didnt think id possibly be able to claim it back, but with the help of this site a letter arrived today :j
Now im more savvy with my spending and the extra cash is going towards my first house. A big thanks to this site :T

Had to take them to court online - they put in a defence. Week later the letter arrived "we think it's fair....blah blah blah....however as a gesture of goodwill.." BINGO!

Brilliant site - off on my honeymoon in August and have a nice little bit of spendy money I would never have had.

Just go for it and don't get dispondant. It will be worth it!! Vegas here I come....!

Oh and Nat West, I'm after you next to cover my losses on the blackjack!

  • Bank: NatWest
    Amount Reclaimed: £375.13
Amount they paid: £425.13 (£50 Court Fee)
Followed steps 1, 2 and 3 and lodged court claim which NatWest acknowledged but settled before they filed any defence. Received cheque from their solicitors in full and final settlement and on the proviso that court action stopped. Now reclaiming £2,242 from the Woolwich and a NatWest joint account. Thanks Martin for making this sooo easy to follow!!

I would like to say three cheers to First Direct (never thought I would)

Success Story: Sent off letter requesting £1999.50 charges plus interest £2402.92.
    Offered straight away £1695.00.
Thought I'd have a go but not be to greedy and asked them for the £1999.50 without prejudice of course.
Came straight back with the £1999.50 :j

Very happy have now just got to get my ex partners signature as it was an old joint account :rotfl:

Lets hope I have as much luck with the others I have applied for but I doubt that very much.
