Hello All,
I started claiming my charges back in November 2006, just had a letter from the bank that they will pay up (no interest) so being it is only £800 I thought just take the cash.
Good Luck all the rest of you still claiming.

Bank Name - Lloyds TSB
Amount Claimed - £800
Amount recieved - £750
Sent Lloyds about 4+ letters as didn't really want to pay court fee's or take them to court. They basically said NO in response to the first letter. Then ignored the next two letters. Finally they responded to the 4th letter after about 3weeks and said the money will be in account within 10 days - however not sure if they are going to close the account and i have an overdraft on it! :T for now...let u guys know if gonna close!0 -
bank name- BOS
amount claimed- £1052
amount received- £1052
kicked off the process in january, sent first letter on 31st asking for statements etc back. however they dragged their feet over sending them so used my online banking to tally up as many charges as i could find. Luckily had all my statements saved so was able to run up spreadsheet without waiting for bank to respond with statements (which took over 50 days!!). Sent both my threatening letters in feb and also called them a few times to chase them up,however they seem to be so backlogged with people claiming back their statements that they wouldnt budge on their timeline for responding to me. Received letter from them in march saying i would hear back no later than 24th april.
received letter on 18th saying money would be paid into account within next 14 days! no mention of closing account etc.
all thats necessary is to follow the steps and be patient! you will get your money back!

Amount they paid: £2265
The story: Sent first letter requesting charges, after 5 days received standard looking into letter, after 14 days was up from me sending original letter I sent taking to court if they do not respond within 14 days. Just a few days before the 14 days where up recieved letter offering the above.
On a separate claim with Lloyds have just recieved a letter from them trying to tell me that a charge is not a penalty charge??? and they will not refund my charges.

BANK: Royal Bank of Scotland
AMOUNT CLAIMED: £3247.00 charges plus £917.23 interest and costs
AMOUNT RECIEVED: THE LOT!!!!!!!
THE STORY:
wrote to rbs in jan 07 asking them to pay me back all my charges. they wrote back saying no! wrote back again requesting statements. they wrote back to me saying they would send my statements free of charge. after adding up all my charges i come to the total above and wrote to them again asking for payment within 7 days. they wrote back saying it was been passed to another department and they would not be giving me back all my charges but would make me a goodwill gesture/payment. this gesture never came and they ignored all letters sent. went through with the money claim on line process which they ignored aswell. got judgement by default. so sent in the bailliffs. bailliffs pick my cheque up on 20/04/2007. its taken 3 months but got there in the end. my advice is follow it to the bitter end.
thanks to all at MSE for the advice on your site0 -

The story, First letter was sent after New Year, 2nd letter followed. I was offered £3500 but missed the 10 day deadline so I had to take them to Court.
Court papers issued after 7 days I thought I had won by default because they did not answer. Then found out I had put the wrong address down!! After phone calls to HSBC and faxing court papers over I have now received an offer from HSBC Solicitors for £5234.69 to settle out of court.Paper of acceptance on its way back !!! Lots of Champagne today. Just waiting for it to go into my bank now. Thanks Martin.0 -

Bank: Barclays Bank
Amount Claimed: 549.70
Amount Received: 425.00
I currently bank with Barclays, yes the subject of the awful Whistleblower programme, and I'm pleased to report that I've been sent £425 (this is without interest) in unfair bank charges. Obviously, the bank have made a statement claiming no "admissions of liability", that they completely "disagree" with the view that the charges are unfair (contradictory??? - they've returned the money) and that it is a "goodwill gesture"!!!! Anyone who is in doubt - GO FOR IT!!!!! Thank you for this invaluable website. :rotfl: :T :j :beer:0
