Awaiting reply from LLOYDS TSB £2880.00 and Alliance and Leicester for £880.000 -
Hooray - just had £2094 refunded by Halifax.
I sent the letter about 6 weeks ago on behalf of my son and hadn't expected it to be this easy. They refunded the whole amount we reclaimed and, as a result, he is no longer overdrawn.
I'm now going to have a go at his closed RBS Acccount for charges going back six years.
Thanks for the advice0 -
Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount Reclaimed: £330.00
Amount they paid: £330.00
The story: I wrote one letter, using a template from this website. I received a reply within 14 days, stating they were going to repay the charges in full. Two days later my bank account was credited with the full amount.
I want to say a massive thanks to Martin for the advice on this site.0 -
Bank: Nationwide
Amount claimed: 6,256.04
Amount repaid: 5,679.06
Got as far as the Moneyclaim stage - they entered a defence but paid up before the date! Not going to worry about the difference between what was claimed and what was paid - just so pleased to have received this amount! Many thanks to Moneysaving Expert team - you gave us the courage (and the templates) to give it a go.:T0 -
Bank: American Express
Amount Reclaimed: £1423.56
Amount they paid: £1423.56
The story: Having received standard replies to letter 3, I issued county court proceedings to which they stated that they would defend the matter. However, the following day I received a phone call and they stated they wanted to settle and agreed to pay the total amount of my claim. Hurrah!!!0 -
Bank: Halifax PLC
Amount Reclaimed: £2,840
Amount they paid: £2,240
The story: Sent the first letter requesting a refund on my charges. They wrote back withing the 14 days saying they would look into my complaint. Received that response this morning saying they will pay £2,240. Only took one letter, no threats, just a simple request. Taken about 3 weeks for them to agree and sort it out with no hassle at my end so I'm OK with that. Well done Martin for his advice!!!0 -
Bank: HSBC
Amount reclaimed: £4,969.90
Amount they paid: £4,849.84 (Inc court costs and Interest)
Had to follow the full process which took about 3 months, however they settled at the last minute just after filing their AQ. I made a slight mistake and duplicated one of the charges so agreed to settle for a lesser amount - hence the lower amount.
Just waiting for the cheque now0 -
 I have recently had all my charges paid back into my account as well as the court fee, :j a grand total of £844. Thank you Halifax. A warning shot came back though,
if I incur any more charges they may withdraw my banking facilities. Its a good job I took the advice of opening the parachute account:p . My next project is to reclaim all my wifes unfair charges:p . Wish me luck;)
