:j Bank: First Direct
Amount claimed: £4430.52
Amount received: £4504.62
Just got home to find letter from their solicitors, they made no previous attempt to make an offer from the 2 letters so filed court claim.
Amount to be received includes court fee and interest.
We are now officially debt free and will have enough left over to have a nice but frugal holiday (haven't had one for 2 years) and put the rest towards another car as current one slowly disintergrating!
Many thanks for all the help and encouragement, you really change people's lives.
We are much more careful with our money, and don't plan to incur any more charges.
Thanks Eva:T :j0 -

Hello all, thanks to this site (and the greed and corruption of the bank system) I have decided to take up arms against them (well, the a&l at any rate)by my reckoning they have had £3257 off of me and thats a heavy wedge in anyones lingo,i've got the statements, totted it up,felt nauseous, asked for it back, been told "ye're stuffed mate!"and have just printed off the "may i have it back,or we go to court" bit in the last ten minutes,it'll go today, and to be honest....i'm kacking me drawers, however,i've got a drawer full of clean underpants so we'll have a go!
PS.....My intention is to pusrsue it throught the English Court system via a relatives postal address(I'm in Scotland) so we'll wait and see what transpires.......to all else in the process.....Best of British.0 -
BANK-HALIFAX
AMOUNT CALIMED- £1639 £1952.15 INC INTEREST
AMOUNT RECEIVED- £1939
I have been waiting to post my success story and I amglad to say after a phone call from the Halifax this morning I can finally do it!
I posted my first letter on the 20th February and was due to start court proceedings this morning untill I received a phone call.
They have paid me a little more than they should have, my calim was for £1639 for 2 accounts and during negotiations I said I would not settle for less than the full of amount of £1639 unaware they were only on about one of my accounts! I then got a settlement of £300 on the other!
Just got to wait for the letter to sign thenthey will depositing the money straight into my bank account. My plans are to be extremely sensible and place it into an ISA so I don't get into the same situation again.
I would like to thank everyone here for all support and guidance. And I will still be a daily reader of the forum to read plenty more success stories xxxx0 -
Hi,
Could someone please clarify for me if I can make a claim on a co-op visa card. If so do I still use the template letter off this site.
Thanks in advance.

This is a little off the track, but the same idea.
I've just cancelled my car insurance, because the policy could not include my wife. They keep the remainder of my premium which was about 3month so a couple of hundred pounds and charged me a £50 administration charge for cancelling the policy. Can this be claimed back under the same legislation?
Thanks very much
Chris0
