I did this on behalf of my boyfriend:

    BANK - Lloyds TSB

    AMOUNT CLAIMED - £1500 approx

STORY - They settled in full (including Court costs and 8% interest) 3 weeks before we were due in Court. It took around 7 months.

    Amount Claimed £948.62
    Amount Paid £948.62

Gave me initial refusal and the moment I went to Money Claim they sent me a letter with cheque, that of course, doesn't admit liability.

Going to do the same with NatWest now, but does anyone know the address to send it to??? Can't seem to find it, thanks.

Thanks Martin and ConsumerActionGroup site. Fantastic.

Sent letter 1. No response. Sent letter 2 and received a snotty letter back but for 'commercial reasons alone' offered me 1300. Took advice here and urged on so 'respectfully declined' and sent again the 2nd letter this time to the big cheese in customer relations. Letter offering FULL refund 4 days later.
Money in my account last wed. !

    Claiming £4600

I have just had my first letter from Lloyds tsb telling me to contact the Financial Obudsman and they will not be refunding any money and they are sorry Iam not happy but reading about your encounter has spurred me onto a second letter threatening court action with 28 days for them to reply back to me. I have had enough of large institutions thinking that they can rip me off. My only problem is that Iam in Scotland and cannot lodged my claim online with the courts, can I go to my local court and fill in a form there?

The letter before action usually gives them 14 days to reply...
Littlewoods catalogue - won back charges of £300 by default.

From reading many posts and from own experience Lloyds are the worst, it will go all the way to filing a claim.
Check out the CAG forums, theres plenty of links for it, there's a whole section about Scots
  • You really do need to go to CAG forums and read, read and read again as there are limits on claiming in Scotland of £1500 or you can make three/four smaller claims via the Sheriff Court.

I have only skim read it so best you go through all the threads there relating to Scottish Procedures.
