Bank: Nationwide
Amount Reclaimed: £30
Amount they paid: £30
The story: Filled in the template and sent it off. A week later £30 was credited to my account.
Many Thanks0 -
I have just received replies from MBNA Bank (originally BOS and A&L) where I
requested repayment of default charges. On one account I was claiming £389,
they have offerd me £30.00, on the other I was reclaiming £534 and they have offered £200.00 They have arranged for these monies to be credited to
my accounts as goodwill payments on the basis that this is in full and final settlement of my complaint. It is ironic as I didn't choose to go to MBNA they
just took over my BOS account and A&L.
Interesting words from their two page letter - When customers pay late, we
incur substantial costs in dealing with their default. We expect every customer to respect their credit limit. If a customer goes over their credit
limit, he, or, she is using the card in a way that is not allowed, in effect they
are obtaining unauthorised borrowing.
County Court action it is sadly, another delaying tactic.0 -
Hi!
Bank: Royal Bank of Scotland
Amount Reclaimed: £116
Amount they paid: £116
The story: I used the letter template from this website. Had a reply in 7 days saying that they disagreed with my views but as a gesture of goodwill they are refunding me the full amount. :j
Still waiting on 3 other accounts. Hopefully will be back on this thread soon!0 -

Hi!
I would claim for it anyway - after all its better off in your pocket than theirs!
I've put a claim in against egg on my credit card and mine's only for £80 but every little helps!0 -
I am quite worried now as Natwest have put in a defence on my claim, I thought it would have been settled by now. I know it now gets transferred to my local court. Can anyone tell me the chances of it actually having to go to court or will it be settled before then, please.

Thanks to you all - after reading the entire forum I have decided i have got nothing to loase and have sent my letters off to my credit card companies in order to re-claim my charges.
Luckily I have kept my credit card statements over the years so do not have to wait for them to send me my statements however I need to get my statements from Barclays.
List of my claims:
Capital One - £52.00
Egg - £88.00
Monument - £32.00
BarclayCard - £290.00
Mint - £36.00
Barclays - £ 775 (over 2 years) waiting for the rest of the statements.
I am hoping this will be pretty straight forward, however am prepared to go all the way!
Has anyone got any more advice or information on these specific companies???? Just to re-assure me that I have decided to do the right thing!!!0 -
Hi everyone,
Could someone give me advice on my next course of action regarding the following:
I wrote to the Bank of Scotland on the 17th January 2007 asking for my charges back. I received a letter dated the 7th February saying that they were dealing with my complaint and that I would hear from them regarding the claim within 4 weeks. Today (06-03-07) I received a letter saying that they apologise that I have not had a full response to my concerns but that they are still investigating and I will receive a response no later than the 3rd of April 2007.
So whats my next course of action? Can I send the court letter or does the fact that they have replied mean I have to wait? Is this a stalling tactic before the OFT report?
Any help would be great!
Thanks0
