Reclaimed Bank Charges SUCCESS stories

I have just asked Woolwich for a copy of my Feb 06 bank statement to find out what charges I might have paid. I am missing the paper statement (I keep them all!!) and they have been archived on the internet.
Was told that it would be £5.00 charge for one side of paper reply or I could file a complaint and request the statement but it would take 20 days!!!!!
All I wanted was the charge information, nothing else and it is an enquiry not a complaint (yet!!) and all this took 17 minutes on the phone - no wonder they make so much money out of us!!!!
However, I am sure it will be worth it as I will be £4k+ better off if it all comes back.

Isatou wrote:I am slightly confused - Barclays Bank have very kindly sent me copies of the last 6 years statements as requested - and returned my cheque for £10 which I thought was very generous - however, on my statements are £20 payments taken from my a/c that say either 'unauthorised o/d' fee and more latterly 'paid referral' - are these both the same thing? They are both for £20, quite a lot less than I was expecting, but about £200's worth of them.
I have the same thing on my statements. They are the same thing I think. It changed about 3 years ago to "paid referral" and they started at £20, went up to £25 and are now £30! I have claimed all the unauthorised overdraft £20's and all the paid referrals.0 -
Thanks for the words of encouragement, for too many years I have lived with the Royal bank of scotland breathing down my neck and taking charges out of my business as well as my other business account.
In december alone they took £ 1100 from one account in charges and would not allow me access to funds from another rbs account which i paid 700 for the service in that month alone.
I thought thta they were there to support small business not kill it dead in the water.
Now I have the confirm, ation of the account eing credited, LLyods TSB here I come.
I have advised all of the people in my large network about this success and they are doing likewise
Keep up the good work Martin

I'm just about to contact Natwest for the first time to get a list of all charges applied to my accounts.
Has anyone had any bad experiences (such as account closure threats etc) with Natwest so early in the game?
I already have a spare account which has been dormant for some years so can use that if need be but would just be a hassle to change everything over!
I also have a loan with Natwest which has never been in default. Anyone know whether Natwest would be within their rights to request repayment in full due to reclaiming charges?
Thanks

Customer Service Recovery Centre
Lloyds TSB
125 Colmore Row
Birmingham

Please change this on your list, so someone else doesn't waste 40 days.
Thanks
Hi
The above dress is not necessarily the correct address; I contacted Lloyds and was informed that a BIRMINGHAM address was the correct one. I then contacted them in BIRMINGHAM and was informed that a HAMPSHIRE address is the correct one.
Lloyds are just using delay tactics. I gave up in the end and got statements back to 01/07/2002 on Internet banking on Lloyds website. Luckily I found old statements from 12/2001 which also helped but have accepted that I won't have statements from 03/2001 so I am missing 9 months.
BUT THIS IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!0 -
GOING TO COURT - HELP!
Do I need to supply a detailed list of what the charges are for (eg a referral charge or unpaid items or charges) on the schedule of charges to the court in the allocation questionnaire? Or can I just list the charges as detailed on your bank charges calculator eg. Charge amount, Date, Interest, Total?
Also do I need to supply this to the bank's solicitors as well?
Many thanks0 -
Hi
HELP! Today I sent off my first letter with a table of my charges requesting that they pay back my charges. However, I have just received a letter telling me that nearly £70 will come out of my account on 09.03.07.
What do I do now? The amount I have requested back does not include this as I was unaware of this amount until today?

You will need to submit your court bundle, which includes all communication between you and barclays and evidence that backs up that the charges are unfair. This takes a good few hours to complete so the earlier the better. You will need to send the bundle to the court and the bank's solicitors. The bundle can be found here. at the CAG forums. You will need to register with them first to be able to download the bundle.[/URL]
Just checking out other posts as i'm expecting my case to end up in court, & followed the link above about the "Court Bundle".
Does all this need to be printed out & sent off to the ness. people?
Also what personal info is needed to be put in, looks quite frightening when you get into it, but we can't give up, we need our money back.
