Not sure if I've made an error, can anyone please advise? When calculating my charges I've combined ALL charges. Ie: going over my overdraft limit, unpaid DD's & chq's, card misuse. Does anyone know if this is wrong?

Can anyone help? I need the address to send my letter to the Royal Bank of Scotland claiming a refund for the charges incurred. I presume it must be different to the first letter for requesting the statments?

I sent all my letters to my local branch...

    Hi,

Firstly congratulations on providing such a worthy service - I've started the process with A & L and will let you know how it goes.

Secondly, I wondered whether this process applies to accounts which have already been closed. I held a Natwest account for a number of years which was eventually closed after financial difficulties led to persistent charging which in turn led to my overdraft going way over its limit. Could I reclaim these charges to pay off the debt that debt collectors are now pursuing me for?
Also, are all types of charges covered by this process i.e. unpaid cheques?

    Thanks

Yes you can claim on closed accounts also - I am! :D
  • Ive been reclaiming my families unfair bank charges through varies banks.
Have had sucess with Alliance and Leicester and Nationwide so far.

    Alliance and Leicester paid: £686.
    Nationwide £1500
Both included 8% interest and court fees

Both initially sent 2 letters in reply to my 2 letters trying to fob us off, so we paid to go to court and they paid up within about 14 days.

Now looking at reclaimng the rest of my families hopefully totaling over £5000.

    Can anyone help.

I have received offer this morning from HSBC. (This claim is on MCOL and I only has been acknowledged by them).
The offer is for £2600 and my claim is for £3800.

So, do I refuse the offer and wait.

    or

Accept as part payment and tell them i will continue.

All the threads I have read seem to be advise when the money has already been credited to peeps accounts already, but this is just an offer.

Thankyou to anyone that can advise. :D

I think I would give HSBC a quick call and confirm you have received their offer and that you are willing to accept this as part payment but you will still continue your claim for the full amount.

Depending on what their reply is, you should also contact MCOL and let them know you have received part payment (or the full amount if they agree to that) but wait until you receive the cheque/money is in your account before you cancel the claim.

    Good luck!

How long did it take for most of you guys to get your statements from your banks.

Barclays - 2 weeks - no problems at all.

HSBC - went into local branch and they printed the whole lot off there and then!

Capital One - 4 weeks and still waiting. Am going to ring up tomorrow.

    Hope this helps.

Ireally need some help. I am trying to reclaim my bank charges from Barclays which total about £1850 including the court fees. I have just been given a court hearing date of 17th April and have to have all documents with the court by 1st April. I don't know what to do next. What do I need to send to the court? I have unfortunately lost my copy of the originla form I filled in online to start the court proceedings. is this a problem? What other documents do I need to get together and where do I find them? I am reallyscared now so would really appreciate anyones help. Should I contact the bank and give them one further chance of settling? I asked the judge for standard disclosure on my allocation questionnaire but I don't know if he's given it.
Please help me, i need to know what to do and quickly.
    Thanks
